Rated 4 out of 5Â by NickName2013 Very bright, very low power
I needed an energy-efficient replacement for the four candelabra bulbs in an overhead light fixture. I have used CFL bulbs for several years, but they take a long time to warm up to full brightness, their color is too yellow, they are not dimmable and they are not as bright as I would like.
These new bulbs remedy all of those problems. I was concerned about the length of the bulbs, but they did just fit into my fixture. The bulbs also emit light evenly in all directions, unlike some other bulbs I have seen reviewed.
Although relatively expensive, these bulbs are a better value than the incandescent and fluorescent alternatives. Having just received and installed, I can only hope that they last a long time.

Even though these claim to be dimmable LED bulbs, they didn't work at all with my Lutron Maestro dimmer.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by frequencyguru The best 40W-equivalent LED candelbra bulb so far
Based on other reviews I decided to try a few of these and the initial impression was very positive so I got more. In particular one of these bulbs ended up being a great replacement for my touch-sensitive, 3-way reading lamp on my night stand. I had previously tried a 40W-equivalent LED bulb from ChiChin Lighting (via Amazon) but it didn't work for two big reasons: 1. size (it was too tall by a few cm) and 2. functionality (the lamp stopped responding to touch!). This TCP bulb not only fit nicely, it allows the lamp to work as intended (1st touch: low light, 2nd touch: medium light, 3rd touch: full brightness).
Do keep in mind that these are only 40W-equivalent bulbs. We replaced all six bulbs in our Hampton Bay Minorca ceiling fan with these (it originally called for 2 60W downlights and 4 15W uplights) which allowed us to INCREASE the amount of light output while vastly DECREASING the amount of energy consumed. At the lowest dimming setting there is a bit of flicker.
We are still waiting for reasonably priced and bright 60W-equivalent LED candelbra bulbs as even these great bulbs are too dim to be the only lighting in our children's bedrooms (which have three-bulb fan-lights).
