Rated 5 out of 5Â by Shari A treasure of a find on discount!!
I needed flood light bulbs for my kitchen but wanted something with low heat generation most of all, then something as energy efficient as possible while still giving full light. I just so happened to have found Flood LED Day Light on discount at the online store... Discounted for almost $40 under market price, i didnt expect these to meet my expectations. My kitchen looks like it has one big sky light with the amount of brightness these put out and my dark granite counter tops look true to color now. No heat either!! Highly recommend, even for full price.

I'm new to the LED bulb thing. I was worried I was going to have the equivalent of a large LED Christmas light, which hurt my eyes, and seem jittery. I'm an incandescent person, it's natural light like fire. But the incandescents in my recess lighting get so hot it makes the room warm. I wanted to try LEDs because they don't put off heat, and they don't use as much energy, which is good if you want to run them off your own renewable energy source. These are daylight spectrum, so they are the brightest. For in my house it was too bright, but I think they work well in the shop or garage where bright lighting helps when doing projects. I've heard people say that LED bulbs are heavy, but these are not. I also didn't feel like I was looking at a giant LED Christmas light, it seemed like a really bright white incandescent. I also like that it looks like a traditional light bulb, not some weird space object. This variety is not dimmable, which for in the house would be nice. I've also read that LED and CFLs make a humming noise unless you use a special dimmer made for CFL and LED. Those special dimmers can be quite expensive, $30-70. Just something to consider. My other annoyance is the energy savings all LEDs use is based on 3 hours of use? Who is only up for 3 hours before bed? Especially in winter. No, I only have the 4 can lights on, but they are on for 5-8 hours. So I'm not sure what my savings or bulb life will be. Still, I like that you can run these pretty easy off solar, which means I could run just my lights off my own solar set up in the shed or garage. That would be cool.

Working good so far. Harsher white than I expected, my kitchen is now a beacon in the night. Recommended for a workspace or if you like your kitchen lit up like a nuclear reactor. I guess I've got 18.3 years to get used to it.

Have ordered 18 of these bulbs so far to go into recessed lights in the house. These bulbs are bright, use only 8.5 watts, and I have not had any other issues with these bulbs ( buzzing, delay etc..). Bulbs come on instantly and light up the entire room. I got 6 bulbs for $50 and 12 more for $130. Compare to other BR30 bulbs, these bulbs are a steal. Since I have just had them installed, can't speak about durability yet.

We do have different types of LED lights. None stand up to the wattage specified on them. They all give a dim glow which hurt our eyes. But these are very bright. We mainly took these because these were mentioned as flood light. True to their description. Very good quality.
