Quite likely you are using non-dimmable bulbs. The dimmable TCP lights usually use 17w - if you put them on a normal switch, or change the bulbs to dimmable, you should have better results.
Lights which are dimmable include 'dimmable' in the description, and usually state dimmable prominently on the package. I have found no issues with these lights on a normal switch.

I have had a similar experience to your's when I put non-dimmable LED's on a dimmer switch, changing to dimmable bulbs solved it.

We haven't gone below zero since i installed the lights but they are instantaneous even when temperatures are in the low teens. Our CFL lights took a while to reach full brightness at these temperatures. I expect the LEDs will be fine next winter.

Hello Rick. LED lights are not effected by temperature. These lights will project light the same amount as their incandescent equivalent.

What is the angle of flood for this bulb?

A lot of "Flood" LED bulbs are 25 degrees. Thats really a spot light, A flood should be at least 40 degrees. I found a lot of LED floods are actually spots, so the room has a spot light in the center, and the light isn't distributed across the room.

This is a specification that should be provided for all PAR bulbs!

90W Equivalent Soft White (3000K) PAR38 LED Light Bulb (2-Pack) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great replacement for incandescent flood lights I replaced (4) 150-Watt incandescent flood lights in my back yard with four of these that use about 1/10th the power and put out 90-Watt equivalent. I was happy that I could tell no difference in the illumination of my backyard. It is as bright with these as it was with 150-Watt flood light bulbs. I am very happy with these. I prefer LED lighting using a bulb socket to the outdoor lighting that requires you replace the whole fixture. These work great for replacing older PAR38 lights. They are indoor/outdoor and well sealed but they recommend they be installed in an inclosed fixture as opposed to out in the open.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Possum does not like them! My husband watched an episode of Holmes on Home last year where he said bugs did not like LED's. We purchased a old house with flood lights in the back and a creek running behind us. I wanted some LED floods but they were so expensive. I go these because they were cheap. Wow they are great. Nice bright white light. I have noticed bugs are not drawn to them, maybe because of the yellow middle? The funniest part is our sassy little wild possum. When it trips the remote light in the middle of the night it hides around the corner looking at them. It never did that with the old floods. I think I will buy some more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent replacement bulb Bright replacement for PAR 38 flood that maintains the look of incandescent lens unlike the majority of LED bulbs on the market. Keeps the look that you are accustomed to, provides light, does not generate the heat of the incandescent and uses less electricity. Excellent bulb.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a flood While this is a well built led bulb it is in no way a flood giving off 80% of its light from the middle20% of the bulb front and throwing a concentrated beam from this center of the front lens--Again not a flood. I added a diffusion filter to the front lens to get a little more even coverage but I shouldn't have had to do that. Quality looks very good but lifespan remains to be seen.....Lots of light just not flood light......

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Using it in basement on top of my ping pong table I purchased this product to use it as recessed lighting in my basement over the top of my ping pong table. Thought it will illuminate the whole ping pong table area as I used two over two sides of the table but isn't to be so. May be they are not good for this purpose. I previously used 40W equivalent LEDs bulbs in the same area. These ones certainly provided more lighting but I did not get double the effect of a 40W equivalent. The quality seems to be good but I am going to have to add additional lights in my basement. these 90W equivalent did not help. used this produce for couple of weeks so far. I would not recommend these for the similar uses as what I got them for.
