This is a very cool system. The system comes with two wifi light bulbs and the control unit. The black box is everything you need to start controlling your entire house. You can basically keep adding compatible devices to the system. The black controller box can be tucked away in a closet hidden from site, it just requries an ethernet connection. T Once on your network you can control the devices with your phone, or ipad or even a web interface. I attached a screen shot of the web interface. he nice thing about this system is the lights can be dimmed or turned on and off. They can also be set to turn on and off at different times of the day.

i'll admit that i was not expecting the LED light to be as bright as it is at full power. but i needed a dimming bulb at my desk. this seemed like the best solution. no extra wiring really, just network connections. setup was fast and easy. using my smartphone seemed a bit balky at first, but i am getting use to it. probably wil get the remote in the future. i will be expanding my bulbs too as i like the control this gives you for (potentialy) all the bulbs in your house. worth the price.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PhilH Excellent Stand Alone System
Very easy to set up and then they just work. They can be used with either the optional remote control alone or with the remote and / or Hub. Connecting the hub gives much more control such as programmable scenes, scheduling and smart phone control from within your home or outside using 3G/4G. The only slight downside is they are pretty much a stand alone system, so no integration at the moment with Home Automation systems nor things like IFTTT.
Excellent value for money.

The Connected WIreless Smart Lighting kit is wonderful!. I placed one of the bulbs in a living room lamp, and can control the brightness without getting off the couch. When dimmed, it has a beautiful, soft ambience, or it can also be made very bright. The system was very easy to set up. To make sure everything goes smoothly, I would first make sure the wireless device is in sync with the computers' router. I had to copy the router's password or the Network key from the botttom of the router to my cell phone, since I hadn't done that previously. The rest of the process was really simple. The kit included all of the equipment needed to set it up: the gateway, cord to connect it to the router, a plug and two bulbs. I just clicked the install button on the TCP site and it recognised by phone. Then it found the bulb I placed in the lamp. Since I also have a remote control, I had to add it to the system, which was quick and simple. I can think of so many great uses for these bulbs, such as turning on lights before I get home so it isn't dark, or without going downstairs. I am so thrilled to have this system!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HDKevin Very easy set up and lot of energy savings
Evidently my kids think we have solar power electricity because there are constantly lights being left on in the house. This kit is great for 2 reasons: first are the LED bulbs. They draw less that a CFL yet produce natural looking bright light. The only difference I noticed is a very slight delay when turning on the light. They do not flicker when dimmed and light produced is not "fake" looking. Secondly the phone app makes it so easy to monitor your usage. My kids like to leave lights on when they're not home so I can quickly check via the app turn off individual lights or entire rooms at a time. For a vacation, you can schedule lights to turn on in different rooms for any period of time for extra security. Setup was very easy. Plug and play into the internet router and the app walks you through the rest in a few short steps. Please watch my video for a demonstration of the app.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 2gtsvette Wow !! excellent way control lights
This is a great product. I use it everyday in my living room and front door way of my house. It is easy to setup and the app is very easy to use. The app allows you to control the lights in various ways, you can dim the lights and even set timers for them to turn on. For me I set my timers to come on around the time I get home so I don't need to feel around in the dark when I open the door for the light switch. In my living room I use my app to dim the lights when watching movies etc. Since the base unit is tied into your network at home it also has the ability to work over the internet allowing you to control your lights from anywhere with internet access.
One other thing to mention, the bulbs are a nice warm white color and is very bright for an LED. I like the compact design and brightness Overall I am very happy with this product and will be expanding the blubs to more rooms in my house.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mark Didn't think I would love it this much
I was skeptical about how much impact having a wireless lighting system would have on my household. Installing the hardware was very easy and then setting up the software on my wireless devices was pretty easy as well. The one hangup I had was trying to modify the preset Smart Controls. Forget trying that; just create your own and everything will work fine. I love being able to turn on/off lights while I'm pulling in the driveway or out and about. The app lets you set timers as well which is great for when you are away or if you want to set outdoor lights to go on/off at certain times. I also like how you can take a photo of your light fixture and save it to the app to easily identify which light you are controlling. I will be getting more bulbs to add to the network. Even though the bulbs are dimmable, I wish there were higher wattage-equivalent options.

This is a great starter kit for adding and controlling (2 included led smart lights), via a smart phone application and wired gateway. My biggest issue is the fact the base unit requires a router port to enable operation. Router ports are a valuable commodity at my house. Perhaps future models can incorporate a true wireless function.
