I put these in the fixtures inthe kids rooms, and set them to turn on slowly in the morning to get them up for school. Works like a charm!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HarleyGuy IT WORKS. MORE USEFUL THAN I INITIALLY THOUGHT. FAIRLY EASY SETUP.
I'll admit I went into the purchase thinking I would end up returning the product or I wouldn't find it useful... I was wrong. Not only do I enjoy the way it works, I'm already thinking of where else I'm going to purchase and put extra bulbs.
When you don't have them, the idea of remote control lights might seem kind of hokey or silly, it really is useful. Being able to set one or all the lights to come on at sunset and go off at a certain time is great. No more crawling behind the couch to get to the timer to adjust as it gets dark earlier and later. The included remote is a very nice touch for visitors who may not want to download the application.
The directions included are hard to see (Then again it could be my eyes are getting older.) so you'll want to go to the website to see the videos.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by LEDGuy they work with some quirks
Setup is easy, no hassles there. The hand-held remote supplied was dead. Had to get a new one from TCP. These lamps run HOT for LEDs, really HOT. And because of this, they are labeled "Not for use in recessed fixtures. Doing so WILL reduce life". So what is a "recessed" fixture? Anything that hides the lamp on all sides but one, the end away from the base. So not only ceiling recessed but also wall sconces, tulip shades and anything with a reflector like my desk light. Hmmmm, that's not so great. And they mention their soft dimming (or some-such, I don't have the box). The truth is, these use step-dimming and the there is something like 12 steps. They don't flicker, but the dimming steps are pretty big. I have to play with these some more to see if I will keep them.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Snuggis Nice kit, but Software Stinks
The TCP kit is nice and well made. The bulbs give off very pleasant light, and when everything is working, it is a delight to operate.
However, I found the software very confusing, and the lack of a comprehensive manual is disappointing. Email customer service was good, however.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Higgi50 Great Home Smart Lighting Product
The smart lighting kit from TCP is a great value. It is easy to install. And it works as advertised. I can have my house lights go on or off anytime I want regardless if I am at home, around the block, or in the far east somewhere. It is the least expensive way to go both from a start up point of view and an ongoing cost standpoint. All you need is an internet connection. TCP's software and web site is free to use. Once you connect you are good to go. I am very pleased.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hhs2 Simple Home Lighting Automation - NO wiring required
I have been searching for a year for a simple lighting automation and control system for my condo. We have several circuits where one switch controls multiple light fixtures. I wanted to split these into separate circuits. Estimates from several electricians were $1500 to $2000 and would have involved running new wires, breaking holes in ceiling, etc.
I came across several light control systems such as Insteon and Z-wave but these would have required I add control units into each fixture and some not so straight-forward programming of remotes and my pc.
Then I came upon Connected by TCP sold at the Home Depot. This system was cost efficient and included smart LED bulbs which were easy to control via a remote (preset or reprogrammable if you like) and some straight forward directions. I purchased several of these systems and was easily able to separately control each of 3 lights which were previously controlled by a single wall switch. I can individually dim or brighten each light, I can control it from a simple hand held remote or from an app on my IPHONE.
In my opinion, having looked at many, this is a very simple straightforward system to use and does NOT require any wiring or rewiring of fixtures.
Connected by TCP comes with LED bulbs (round, spot) and with CFL bulbs. I highly recommend the system, and of course when you order from home depot, they stand behind it.
My only slight negative is that the current LED bulbs are equivalent to about 60 watt and I would like brighter bulbs. One can group several bulbs in a single fixture and control them each individually or in a fixture group. I ALSO think it would be very helpful if HomeDepot stocked in their stores the SMART TCP bulbs for the system.
GREAT System ! There is nothing else like it (no wiring, easy to use) at least that I could find and I have looked a lot.

Great product, works fantastic and as advertised. Little pricey, but it should come down as time goes on.
