Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by KimS Black paint came off when it rained.
Bought and used these one evening. Next morning it rained, actually only sprinkled, for 10 minutes or so. The black paint on the bamboo sticks just rinsed right off. The torches worked fine but now they look like junk.

Paid extra for these because I liked the black, instead of the usual bamboo color. The first time it rained, the black paint washed off onto my newly re-finished deck. Now the poles are no longer black.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Otto good stuff for a good price
good quality for such a low price. At first I thought they were made of plastic, but it is in fact a bamboo torch painted black. There are other torches that are more expensive than this one, but this one does a good job. My mom is a very fancy person and I have to say she loved it and we use it every time we have a barbecue in the evening. I love how they add that "pottery barn" feeling to our backyard. It is also very useful to get rid of the mosquitoes but be warned... the torches don't have fuel and you have to buy it separately. So, if you buy these torches, I recommend you also order the Tiki fuel (also for a low price). After buying these, I don't even feel it is necessary to buy the more expensive ones. These will do fine.

For the price, these are sturdy and long-burning compared to others.

For the price, these are very attractive and a good value. Just don't leave them outside in the elements for too long as the paint comes off the poles.
