I purchased 8 of these for our outdoor Nativity at church. It was windy last year and they still stayed lit all the way through. Home Depot has the absolute best price on these. There is only one other retailer that can match them and I will not mention them, because I no longer do any business with them. (Plus it wouldn't be fair to HD :) ) The bad reviews on this just had to be flukes of some kind. They work great. I added a photo to prove it.

Inspect these carefully before taking them out of the store. They don't seem to be able to ship them without damage. Purchased these for our deck and had to return half of them. Then the clerk and I had to search through the entire stock in the store to find some that were not dented.

We wanted tiki torches for a wedding rehearsal party. My wife bought some inexpensive bamboo torches but when we tested them they did not burn brightly and were ackward to fill. I saw these and bought one to test. It has a larger wick and a body that holds more fuel. There is a rotating cover where you pour in the fuel- sort of like a sprinkle cheese shaker. This makes it easy to empty. It comes with a metal cover attached by a chain to the body. To put the torch out you just put the cover on the top - it is magnetic. The body unscrews from the pole, making it easier to store. We liked it so much we bought 10 of them for the party. Oh, the other feature is that they can stand up to moderate wind - the party was a house overlooking a beach and we had 8 to 10 mph winds - no problem for the torch.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GadgetMan Large Flame with a Large Negative
I was really dissapointed when I began looking for a Tiki torch. I had never bought them before but if your going to call it a "torch". Then the flame better not be finger width. The wick on these torches is over 1"in diameter and they make a very large flame.
So what is the negative? They rust out apparently. All my research indicates if you leave these torches out all season, the inside fuel canister holding the citronella will rust out. Now, it is a negative but it is manageable and you cant beat the price for a tall and massive flame Tiki Torch.
I'm managing them by using Torch Stakes so they are only outside when I want to use them. Second, there is an easy DIY mod to install a small soda bottle to replace the canister inside the torch. Just google for it and there will be a video.

I was excited to get these home as we had a party that night. The torches would not stay lit. I used Tiki Brand Citronella Fuel and the wicks that came with it. Only one of the five that I bought actually stayed lit. I reread the reviews and the info on the Tiki website and it said that these torches came with a magnetic snuffer top. Those were not included with my purchase. Maybe I bought lamps that had already been returned. I have owned torches before that worked, but these are terrible.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by classylawn101 Island King is true royalty among tiki torches.
I really like tiki torches in general. They help create very good ambiance to an evening. I recently acquired two of these Island King torches and I have to say that I really like them. The large flame is exactly as it sounds in that it has a larger flame than the normal sized torches, and it looks cool. Filling is a dream because you don't have to remove a lid to do it. Just pour the fuel in the top near the wick and you are good to go. I suppose the trade-off here is that the container is not spill proof. So if you are planning on tipping the torch, or if it is displayed where it could easily tumble, the fluid will leak out the top. No big deal for most people I'm sure. The caps/snuffers function great and I like the aesthetic design of the torch in general. Very cool and I think I will be buying some more of these in the future.

I thought buying tiki brand would mean quaility. Did not come with a stake to stand in the ground. Waste of money.
