Can I use water-based epoxy-paint in this machine?

Can I use water-based epoxy-paint in this machine?
Asked by: Borven
Hello Friend First...I absolutely agree with the other answer...if...the individual, ( from Titan ) was actually informed. Next...if you have an 850...try it. That said...I'd look at the "Solid Content". If it's "high"...try a .019" orifice tip or better; a .021" tip. Next...almost always do we "thin" the mixture. Therefore I am cautiously optimistic. Last...prepare to walk slower. A thicker mixture may be hard to pump...offering a slower walking speed. But, if thinned per the MFG's specifications and spraying through a slightly larger tip...this may allow the walking speed to be normal. Next...when we are mandated to spray Epoxy it is a large job. It's almost always indoors and a warehouse. Therefore I would not recommend this machine unless you are the warehouse staff and or you can make several trips. Next...if, by chance, you are the one choosing Epoxy...maybe to dry more quickly in adverse, outside weather...maybe choose a different paint...other than Latex. ( If that's the reason for the question. ) I hope I helped. Let me know. Thanks. Dan

PowrLiner 850 Airless Spray Painter is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very cost effective little machine I purchased the titan 850 to get me out of a bind, I have a graco 3500 that I usually stripe with I was having some issues with it so I took the plunge and bought this machine just to do a few small to medium size lots (50-100 stalls) I was skeptical due to the low price and a few lower rewiews I read. Out of the box I was disappointed to find that the swivel wheel on the front lacked a cable and lever. I am a manual nerd so I read it thru twice following the steps to flush the factory fluids, adding oil and so on. I took it out today and sprayed for the first time I am used to a heavier machine which is more stabile on bumpy or rough surfaces that is what took me longer to get familiar with, as far as spray quality it was just as good as my graco. But as mentioned if you have any experience at all you know that a pebble can make a line wiggle with this machine the lack of weight is the reason behind that I believe. like I mentioned before the 850 does have the swivel wheel but no cable or lever a quick trip to the bike shop and about $30 solved this issue also upon installing the cable I noticed the front wheel had about 1/4 inch of side play which I installed a washer to shim the axel. There again another reason that can cause line wiggle. I give this machine 4 stars for price and function Titan could have spent a little more time and money on the powerliner and made a really nice machine but for the price and the sake of having a small little machine to fall back on its worth the investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing machine, I love using it!! I bought this machine because it was small and affordable, but was worried it might not perform...how wrong I was!!! It puts down great lines, super easy to use and it's not hard to clean up afterwards. Clean up takes me a little while but I try to keep it looking new. Only hard part (not that hard though) is changing colors on the job. You need to have a water hose with you and I have a big cooler that I pump or pour rinse water into. The machine is great...a couple more jobs and I will order another one, one for blue and one for white so I don't have to clean and change on the job. Can't recommend it high enough. Tip: use only non-ethanol gas, motor will last longer...oh yeah, it cranked on the first pull and has every time since.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Machine Scared was my first feeling when I took it out of the box and then I questioned myself "can I do this?" After reading the manual twice and walking myself thru the procedures at least three times before I actually turned it on I found out that this machine is very easy to operate, clean, and store with very little to no problems. I am amazed at how well it performs. This is one great machine for beginners. I know I got my moneys worth

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Work it before you get on job It's priced right and does a good job when it working right. Mine had flat spots on all 3 wheels, which caused it to wiggle. The pressure would surge. So I had a wobbly line and surges in my spray. They replaced the wheels. If I'd tested good before I would known before doing a job. Id buy another one todat.
