I currently have a taco 007-f4 that seems to be shot. Is the 007-f5 a direct replacement? It seems the f4 is now discontinued.

Answer:
Taco has produced the 007 circulator sense the early 1970's. The "F4" and "F5" are designations to indicate different production changes and improvements they have made over the years. In realty no one outside the factory needs to know this and I wish they would stop as it creates confusion with no practical advantage that I am aware of. So the F5 should replace the F4 just fine. In realty no one outside the factory needs to know this and I wish they would stop as it creates confusion with no practical advantage that I am aware of. So the F5 should replace the F4 just fine. If you replace the pump now, It is a good idea to make sure you run the new one for a few hours before it shuts down for the season. The pump is water lubricated. You want to make sure all the air is evacuate from the water jacket. If not air will cause rust over the summer and the pump will fail to run next fall. Chris 978 651 3301 Read Less

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by is this a refurbished part? I got home to find that the part in the box that appears to be brand new may be refurbished? The electrical connections box on the pump was spray painted green over where the specifications plate is typically mounted. I will probably end up bringing the pump back to the store to see if I can get a new one. Not too happy! September 16, 2014
