Answer:
No. A 1 - 5 gallon handheld or backpack pump sprayer is most commonly used to apply NanoPave JSS. Please consult the product install guide for more detailed information.

Answer:
Yes. NanoPave JSS is a 2-in-1 Joint Stabilizer and Sealer that is designed to stabilize hardscape joint materials and seal the surface all in one application process. For any joint over 3/4" wide, it is recommended to use a 3/8" minus decomposed granite (DG) material with angular rocks, fines, and dust. For more information, please review the installation guide and the NanoPave JSS FAQ page.

I have DG with grains about the size of coarse sand. Would this work for pavers with joints about 1/4 inch wide?

Answer:
As long as the aggregate isn't a washed mix that is devoid of fines and dust, it should perform well with NanoPave JSS.

I also have DG available already, the grains of the DG are about the same size as coarse sand. Which would be better?

Answer:
It is not recommended to use a washed sand as it will abrade away easily. A common masonry sand or UltraMix Paver Joint Sand is required for use in joints up to 3/4" wide in most hardscape surface applications.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 25 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Totally worthless Waited for 75 degree weather and let sand dry good before applying. Used twice the recommended amount to make sure I had it all soaked in very well. Let it dry for the next week in 70-80 degree weather. After a week it rained and it acts like it all washed away. All I have left now is wet, loose sand. It's now no better than sand that has been hosed down with water. September 17, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nanopave Not Rainproof Used this product on a patio area that has flagstone with crushed granite for mortor. The product was installed per instructions, drying period, mortor gap, crushed granite size and application rate. Initial this product functioned as manufacturer described for about two weeks. Then we got about two inches of rain over a week period. The product literally washed away and left zero hardness to the crushed granite mortor. September 1, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very disappointed. Product was expensive with poor results. This product did not work as I was told it would. It was purchased with the sand to use with flagstone and I was told that this product would harden and seal the sand around the flagstone. It was applied and given the recommended amount of time to dry and setup before foot traffic. The sand did not ever harden and all of the sand is coming out from between the flagstone. Now we are going have to spend additional money to do something different. August 9, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Many hours , little results We spent three days and over $200 sealing a patio and sidewalk. It washed out with the first heavy rain. August 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works as advertised I used this on top of regular paver sand to fill joints. I applied it during a warm summer day and it hardened by the night. You will have some weeds come through occasionally, but it's not bad. I preferred this over polymeric sand and I'm very happy with the decision. August 16, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not strong enough for ants Hardened as expected and sealed pavers pavers but ants tunneled through it within days. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Customer Service I recently completed a review BobSig226 and describe the details of my experience. Since this review the manufacturer has stepped in to help rectify the situation with sealer not being compatible with jointing material. This review is to amend the original to a higher rating as a result of the manufacturer sending me another 5 gal supply of sealer to redo my walkway. I still recommend that you test the sealer on the material you are sealing before a complete application. July 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Chunks flake off-not for all mixes I originally purchased 2 gallons of Nanopave for my front steps. This application worked well for pavers with sand joints. I admit I used double the recommended application rate and got good results. At this point I probably would have given the product 4 stars. However, two weeks later I purchased the 5 gallon version for applying to my flagstone walkway with crushed limestone in joints. The container states an application rate double that of the sand joints. OK...so I even doubled this rate as an "insurance policy". The walkway looked great until I cut the grass and used leaf blower to blow grass off walkway. chunks of crushed stone started flying away. I then contacted Techsoil (makers of Nanopave) and they asked a bunch of questions. They are in the process of analyzing a sample of limestone mix from the quarry the mix was purchased from. According to the rep..."Their product should be tested before final use because it is not compatible with all mixes". Based on this statement, I should have gotten a sample from my landscaper prior to them installing the walkway, tested the sample with my $150 5 gallon Nanopave. And then when it didn't work, inform my landscaper they would have to use a different source for the joint mix only to start the testing process over again. BTW: The rep further stated that I would need to remove the joint mix and start over. For this, I give the product 1 star. July 9, 2016
