The previous Pozi drive (Phillips and square drive combination drive) screws were great. Strong and well made. I never broke off a head as. These new Star drive screws are poor quality the heads break off and are much thinner than the Pozi drive screws. Unfortunately the great Pozi drive are no longer being made. These poor quality screws are the same price. Too bad, quality is again overcome by greed!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by NPmatt Excellent finish, easy to use
I've gone through roughly a half-dozen 5 lb. boxes of these in the past couple of years for deck, fence, and outdoor shed projects and the T-25 heads are an outstanding improvement over a standard Phillips head. A quality torx bit in a hammer drill or impact driver makes driving them a snap. Can be used directly in light materials but I predrill and lightly countersink holes in heavy material for a quality finish. I've never had a head separate. The occasional screw will have excess finish in the head requiring removal for the bit to get a proper grip since the heads may strip if the bit is improperly engaged with an impact driver. The finish appears to be holding up well on my older projects after several years of harsh interior Alaskan winters.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Sean Horrible, generally low quality
These screws are much worse than the comparable Grip-Rtie screws at the other big home improvement store. The heads stripped very easily, and I have a bunch of useless screws because of this. Once I got the screws almost flush with the material, when I went to give them a quarter turn to bring them slightly under the material's surface the star in the head would just strip right out.
They were also comparatively hard to start; thy would just spin on the surface of the material.
Overall, these were frustrating to use, and I would not recommend them.
