I decided to order this product from Home Depot because they were the cheapest and they offered free shipping
It is well built, looks sturdy and fits perfectly on top of my fireplace. I would recommend this item without a doubt
Look at the pictures and the work done...

I priced a similar product from a local fireplace store and the home depot chimney caps were about 25% less expensive. I'd recommend this product to anyone looking for reasonable quality and price on a stainless steel chimney cap.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bingster Pretty nice but needed modification
The bottom of the chimney cap has the 14 x 18 dimensions but included in the interior is a 1" flange that makes the dimensions of the opening equal to 12 x 16. My chimney flue is 13 x 15 so I had to use a grinder to enlarge the width of the cap opening by 1" so I could put the cap over the flue. I used the grinder to reduce each interior flange on the width by 1/2".
The bolts furnished with the cap were too short so I had to go to the Home Depot to get longer replacement stainless steel bolts. Then I was able to mount the cap on my fireplace flue and it looks very nice. I can recommend this product with a qualified "yes"; in my case it was necessary to have a grinder to do some on-sght modifications. Also, I needed to buy some replacement stainless steel screws.

HD's info on fitting this thing is garbled. Here's what I found: The inside of the lower section is 19 3/8 long and 14 7/8 to 15 wide, so the outside of your flue has to be smaller than that. Inside this section, about 1 3/8 from the bottom, is a horizontal flange about 1 3/16 to 1 1/4 wide. You can sort of see it in the picture. The opening inside this horizontal flange or shelf is 17 long and 12 3/8 to 12 1/2 wide. Ideally, the inside of your flue opening should be the same or smaller than that, because most codes say that you can't have any constrictions. Check with some expert, which I am not. The flange or shelf is not particularly impressive as to its rigidity and apparent strength, so you would probably be better off if the outside of your flue sat on the outer half of the flange. Metal thickness throughout is just about at minimum so I'm not sure how these set screws will hold in a storm.

Nice stainless, just flemsey. When you tighten the set screws the body actually flexes out instead of staying stationary and square. The bottom of frame where the set screws are needs to be more ridged/sturdy. Other than that, not to bad of a product. Could be better!
