Answer:
The boxes at HD are not that much different than the ones at Lowe's, which do have handle knockouts. Lowe's website does not list the weight suggestion like at HD, but one of the answers in the question area states 65 lbs. HD boxes are made from 100% recycled paper so they might not be as durable as the ones at Lowe's.

The answer stating that the box would have to be redesigned is a bit puzzling to me as I have been using boxes to ship items on Ebay since 1997. All corrugated boxes are basically similar in construction. True there are some heavy duty boxes out there, which state so on the bottom with the crush and weight rating.
I rarely shop at Lowe's but always buy my boxes there due to the fact there boxes do have handle knockouts.
Sometimes I do have to put packing tape at the top of the handle knockout when I know I will be putting books or other heavy items in a box so it will not rip. This is usually not required for most items.
Maybe HD will start making some of their boxes with handle knockouts. It should just be an option die cut on the box manufacturing line of whoever they have make their boxes for them. They could sell a heavy duty moving box with handle knockouts along with their normal boxes.. JMHO. Read Less

Answer:
because the nature of cardboard does not allow for handle holes with out major design and manufacture changes, the area would need reinforcement or it tears easy = $$$$$

Answer:
I have found that unless boxes are made of reinforced cardboard, or the handle holes are specially reinforced, cutting handle holes weaken the boxes. No handle holes make the box more difficult to lift, but the box lasts longer.

Definitely the medium box. The large and extra large were nice for lamps, but were to heavy to tote, for me. We used over 100 medium boxes, but just a few of the larger ones, for a 3/2 house. Hope this helps.

Answer:
Whether the 18 in. x 18 in. x 16 in. 65 lb. Medium Box can be shipped to your address depends, to some extent, on where you live. There is a "Ship to Home" option on the item's page at homedepot.com . However, there are some places to which this box cannot be shipped, including (though not necessarily limited to) AK, GU, HI, PR, and VI .

18 in. x 18 in. x 16 in. 65 lb. Medium Box is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 155.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boxes, great price and convenient I spent over an hour on Amazon trying to purchase boxes for my recent move. After all that time, I learned I could not get them for 3-5 days. I don't know why, but I went to the Home Depot website and found all the boxes I needed, various sizes, the quantity I needed (not a prepacked bundle), at a very fair price. AND, I could place the order, have it pulled and waiting for me at customer service within 2 hours. Good quality boxes, fair price, and convenient!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy Boxes for moving Boxes worked out great for moving. I wish there was an option for vertical orientation rather than horrizontal. They are extremely sturdy and great for moving. Price is a little expensive for a box. Would recommend offering a set at a discount for those requiring 5-10.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid box but tape does not stay on it We bought these boxes for moving books and they are really strong. The boxes did not break and got damaged with the heavy weight of the books. I removed a star from my rating because the tape I bought with the boxes did not stick to them and kept falling. Tape bought was the scotch brand for moving boxes (tape worked in other boxes brand)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bigger than I expected These were great boxes. They were big and sturdy and I appreciated having the lines on the top for labeling and the checkmark boxes on the side. When I got to my new house, it was great to look at the side of a stack of boxes and not have to move all the ones on top to have an idea what was inside. They were a great value as well!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mystery coating prevented tape from sticking! Unbelievably frustrating experience! I purchased a LOT of moving supplies from Home Depot to discover that tape lifted off boxes. I purchased the Scott packing tape on display near the boxes. At first I blamed the tape. Bought expensive Guerilla tape and that lifted off the boxes!! What a nightmare! Money, time and energy wasted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from sturdy, but tricky with tape Sturdy boxes, however we had trouble with getting the packing tape to stick! We had two different types of Scotch brand packing tape and only one type would stick! Unfortunately, I don't remember which one works. Buyer-beware!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Boxes I was very pleased with the boxes themselves and the delivery of the boxes but the price was a lot higher than BOTH representatives told me on the phone. It was about double what I was told.
