The bucket is not food grade. All food grade buckets are made from HDPE #2 but not all HDPE #2 buckets are food grade. This bucket specifically says "not food grade" in product overview.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product There isn't a whole lot to say about a bucket, except that these are inexpensive and sturdy, and last a while even with heavy use. I have anywhere from 5 to 30 at any given time on multiple jobsites, used for everything from airless spray painting to work surfaces to cleanup to a standing stool to holding bricks and rocks to mixing mortar and cement... And so much more. Other brands tend to shatter much more easily, and this one is most vulnerable on the bottom, but even with a crack you can still fix it with duct tape and hold anything except liquids. Buy one, or 30. You'll end up using them all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! This thing is amazing! It'll carry tools, catch or hold liquids and it can even be turned upside down and used as a seat (I recommend emptying it before turning it over unless you have the lid on tight}.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not the inteded use but........... Add the lid, drill a hole, purchase some small-ish vynyl tubing and you're a little silicon/hot glue away from an outstanding 5 gal home brew fermenter. The HDPE is food safe and the results are phenomenal. For a few more dollars drill a hole at the bottom, add a spigot and you can go from fermenting straight to bottling. I built 2 fermenters in this manner for about what I would've paid for 1 commercial unit and I have plenty of tubing left over. I'll probably be making more in the future, as I enjoy drinking the beer I make out of them immensely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The EVERYTHING bucket.... I have about 5 of these around the house. I absolutely love them. They make working out in the yard or garden so much more convenient. I can carry just about everything I need all in one bucket. My daughter uses them for washing her car (too bad she doesn't keep her room as spotless as her VW Jetta). My husband uses them for various chores around the house. And just this morning I've decided to head back to HD to purchase several more and some paint for plastic....drill some holes in the bottom, slap on a little paint and I'll have new pots to plant in. Hey, it's a lot cheaper than plant containers that size! Plus, if you have to move them, they've already got a built in handle.....AWESOME!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a bucket y'all! Its a bucket, why would you write a review about it? Unless yours came with holes drilled in it, I'm sure it does the job! But in all seriousness, its a great bucket. I put a bunch of stuff in mine last fall and they are still in there. So an A+ from me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extreme Deluxe Value! This product is amazing! It has so many uses. It makes a great halloween costume, end tables for my living room, shower, toilet. Forget buying expensive appliances, this bucket takes care of your needs! I have dozens of these around the house. I honestly don't know what I would do without this bucket. I even took out my kitchen cabinets and just have these buckets sitting around my kitchen. Works like a charm! Washing machine, no problem! Trash can, done! Mailbox, you got it! I absolutely love this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extreem value I have now buried 383 of these in the California desert mostly full of water, some with wheat and a grinder and also 10 full of diesel fuel and a colman stove. I put a bead of GE silicon caulk in the lid groove and hammer it on. In medium hard soil I can bury one in 10 minutes with 2 feet of cover. Total cost is $1231 for everything including transport gas (but not my labor). These are regular $7, thick buckets, sold at a loss for advertising. I also turned one upside down in the sun full of water after caulk and no leaks. Of course I have mixed concrete in tehs many times. Only gripe is if left in the sun for a year they break apar from the UV. Bury solves that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most Feature Rich Bucket Of All Time I'm a big bucket connoisseur, but never have I seen such a superb bucket before. It's thick orange plastic, the handle, the wonderful finish. You can put things into it. Or use it as a target for shooting Nerf darts into. Or wear it as a very large hat. The possibilities are endless!

I use the buckets for weeding, painting, garbage, flood cleanup, camping gear, motorcycle parts and so much more. They are high quanlity plastic and have all held up well so I have no complaints. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Paint Bucket How can you go wrong with a good bucket? You can do so much with it. It holds water and can wash your brushes after a good painting session. Then you can turn it over and sit on it when your tired. Or, you can play it like an instrument if you're so inclined. Good bucket for the money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good basic bucket We used the bucket to haul river rock from a rock pile to a retaining wall and then to dump the rock into place. I filled the bucket up to about 7/8 full. I don't know how much weight it was but it had to be at least 50 lbs, I didn't weigh it. The other use was for mixing concrete, Sakrete to be exact. about 30 lbs a pop with water using a drill mixer. Then I poured it into a block wall. We poured about 800 lbs over all. The bucket is still whols and I will use it to mix mortar next.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grows a Great Patio Vegatable Garden in Seabrook NH April 28, 2013 Have used same 8 buckets for 3 years now. Drill some 1/4 inch holes just above base for drainage and then add some stones to bottom to avoid soil blockage. Now fill up with potting mix and some vegatable fertilizer grains and you are ready for seeds or starter plants. Three bamboo sticks and twine make a nice trellis for climbing pea plants. Have had great tomatoes each year. Trying out the City Pickers planters in addition this year. Lots of fun gardening on the deck in Seabrook NH 2013 especially with this nice weather April 27 and 28!!!!!
