can your home depot Rubbermaid 5-Gallon Jug be used for hot beverages?

Asked by: Anonymous
It may not be recommended by the manufacture, but I did a fundraiser with chili beans, and the 10 gallon one kept it secured and nice and warm. Just one reminder, if you grab the 5 or 10 gallon jug, remember the weight that you put in them. If all possible have a cart to move.

I have been told that the second cup dispenser that comes with this jug holds Solo cups as well. Do you know what size?

I know it holds the cone shaped cups, but I want to use cups that will stand up. Can you tell me which size Solo cups fit into the black dispenser?
Asked by: KathyH
We bag our cups because the holder must be removed before travel or you will lose it on the road.

I had a block of ice inside and it stayed solid during the hot afternoon and overnight. I put the block of ice in our freezer and will use it next time when I need to keep something cold. Water lowly dripped from the seal around the spout. I put the dogs water bowl on the ground to catch the dripping water. When I got home I tightened the plastic nut inside the water cooler around the spout and filled the cooler with about a gallon of water and did not see the water dripping. I plan on using the water cooler for family and friends activities. The water cooler should last for many years.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Water cooler Lid does not lock at all. Spout leaks after every pour.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I picked up this water cooler in the Garden Dept... I picked up this water cooler in the Garden Dept and it was filthy, covered with dust, but I needed one desperately and figured the dust would be easy enough to wash off. We looked everywhere we could think of for cups to fit the dispenser without any luck. Then the first time I fill it to capacity, it leaked all over my car seat because the lid does not seal, no matter how many times I took it off and re-screwed it on, in case things weren't lined up right. I had other people put the lid on, but it still leaked, so now I cannot fill it to capacity. I'm not happy with this purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 gallon water cooler Same as the 25 year old Rubbermaid my dad had. Don't change the design it it's not broken. After 25 years the old one needed new seals in the spigot to make it work like new again. Built to last.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed The cup dispenser is a little cheesy, but I wasn't planning on using it anyways. Other than that, it was perfect. Works great. Kept the beverage cold.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Missing parts The cooler works great but was advertised to have a cup dispenser inside which was not there. We really should have checked before we left the store.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lid didn't close I bought two. The lid didn't screw correctly on one of them. Disappointing because I could've gotten some at Walmart for a few bucks less too.
