No the globes can be removed. The light came with the globes off of the fixture. To help with removal of the globe twist the globe to loose the ceramic nut first.

Unfortunately, it is. I don't anticipate having an issue with it though, since I have never broken a vanity light - ever. Cleaning is the issue, and so far so good. You could always
mount it pointing downward.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by All is not as it appears.... I recently purchased a home to renovate and this same light fixture (three light version) had just been installed in the main bathroom. At the time I thought how lucky I was that I would not have to replace such an attractive fixture, saving some money while remaining stylish. Unfortunately, when all is said and done this is not nearly the value I thought it was. The globes do not come off so painting around them is challenging and even taking it down to paint was tricky because the added weight from the globes made lifting it up into place harder than it needed to be. Now I ask myself, will I have to replace the whole fixture if one of the globes breaks? Seems to be the case. Bummer for me. November 13, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bella 4-Light Brushed Nickel Bath Fixture with Etched Glass Shade The light fixture didn't fit close to the wall when mounted to the outlet box in the wall. This left a gap between the lamp and the wall. July 16, 2014
