We purchased the Thomasville Palmetto Estates dinning and seating sets last July. The furniture looked great after hours of assembling.
Unfortunately, the furniture started to crack on the chairs and table, and gotten worse quickly. We sent pictures and contacted Thomasville for replacement pieces, but Thomasville wasn't responsive. We were very disappointed. Everyday we discovered more and more cracks, and came to realize that the wood quality is not strong enough for the outdoor environment. After a few complains to Home Depot , the customer service was helpful at the end. Finally, Home depot arranged the return and made refund to us in September.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Verified Reviewer Poor quality, terrible support
I do not recommend buying this set. I wanted quality outdoor furniture and thought the Thomasville name would be the answer. After the first season of use (summer 2011), I noticed that the wicker had cracked in several locations on one of the chairs. I contacted the manufacturer (it's not Thomasville) and have been getting the run around for months: phone messages are not return, emails get lost or ignored, attachments mysteriously disappear, employees that "no longer work here" (requiring you to start all over). I've heard it all except..."we'll take care of that for you." This is NOT a company that stands behind their product, nor is it high quality.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 1967 Love the set ; difficult to assemble
We love our patio set. It is just what we were looking for. But the assembly process was tough. Most of the hardware was installed using an allen wrench. The receiving holes were too small and it took all my strength to install the first screw. i had to do 2 things. First drill the receivng holes as little bigger and buy an allen wrench bit for my drill. Once I did that it was much simpler. I have installed quite a few products over the years but this was by far the most challenging. I don't know how someone without a drill , could have easily assembled this product. I will write to Thomasville about my experience.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by buckeye2010 Palmetto dining set
We have had our dining set for 3 months. We loved the design and the good looking appeal. It's heavy and would think that it would last for years to come. After 3 months and very little wear, we have noticed cracking in the wood table legs, chair legs and table top. Some areas of the top of the table looks like it might start to peal. I'm extremely disappointed at how it is looking and worried about the longevity of the product. We love Thomasville furniture and was expecting high quality patio furniture as well. This furniture is made for the outside. We have gotten far less rain than normal and plenty of sunshine. I hoped this furniture would have weathered better than this. Again it's only been 3 month old..

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Christy Looks great, long assembly time
I was thrilled to find this set on sale. It arrived yesterday and involved a VERY arduous assembly. I realized after assembling one chair (1 1/2 hours) that using the included allen wrench was not going to work. I HIGHLY recommend using a 4mm hex driver socket bit to make the assembly much easier. The set looks great so far but I anticipate needing to refinish the set by the end of the summer. I might go ahead and seal it now since the factory finish is paint or paint-like; no doubt it will flake off in weeks or months. I'll update my review after at least a month of use.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by diys4less thomasville palmetto estate 7 piece set
The set is very sturdy when built and quite comfortable. Don't bother using the included allen wrench as it will take you forever to build. If you use a powerful, slow driver you'll be able to assemble all 7 pieces within a couple of hours (getting it out of the box and putting boxes away). It helps if you assemble the chairs on it's side, put in the screws loosely, flip it, and repeat and then tighten. Not bad. Only complaint is that one of the boxes was strapped so tightly that it splintered the wood on one of the chair parts and cracked off a small quarter-length piece on another. You can't see it and it comes with small stain bottles to cover anything up. Otherwise, I'm extremely happy with this and have used it every chance we can get.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TomSWFL Wood furniture that can handle Florida seasons!
Just purchased a month ago. Delivery on-time. Assembly pretty easy.
I read the reviews before I purchased and got the feeling that assembly was a bit of a nightmare. I found that if I read the directions and follow the steps, it was easy to assemble. The allen wrench for the chairs and wrench for the table worked just fine for assembly. I'm not a hulking muscle man either! I had none of the problems others had. I had one screw for a chair that was damaged but once I spoke to HD local store, they replaced it at no charge. (My right index finger was soar from tightening up the screws on the chairs but no more than it would be for anything else.)
We wanted wood and this was a nice fit without dropping a couple thousand dollars. We have received compliments on the nice look and quality.

When we saw this set in the store, it sold itself compared to the other metal sets. Very solid construction, using nice hardwood. We ordered online and received a week earlier than scheduled.
Assembly was straight forward but did encounter a couple issues making the chair legs level. Found if main screws were snug but not completely tight, you could sit in the chair to align the legs, then fully tighten screws.
Very pleased with the purchase and had coffee and toast outside at the table just his morning.
