Applied the stain last September after power wash and letting dry thoroughly. Applied with Wagner Sprayer. Picture below is of results after eight months. Getting ready to do deck over. I live in Central Oregon with 11 inches of moisture a year and snow on the ground for maybe 30-45 days a year. There is just something wrong with this products durability. The fence behind the deck is fine - the deck is unacceptable.

I recommend this waterproofing stain. For best results read and follow the instructions thoroughly. Start by preparing the surface so the stain adheres. My deck is less than 1 year old is in the sun most of the day. Once ready to go it rolled on smoothly and soaked in quickly. Coverage depends on how you apply the product. The color is light so the grain shows.

Thanks to Raybrook for posting his picture. Our deck looks exactly like his. We applied this on 1 year old dry, pressure treated deck boards on two covered decks and steps. We applied as per directions with very poor results. Thompson warranties this product for 4 years but after just 9 months time it looks exactly like that picture. We are in the process of finding out if Thompson stands behind their claim to reimburse fully if not satisfied. Would not recommend for decks or porches.

This paint stain is a beautiful, natural looking color. I wanted something that would show the original fence for a natural look, not painted looking. This is perfect. We used a paint spraying gun to apply & it was soo easy! One gallon did about 40ft of a 6ft tall fence.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nonsheep Waterproofing Stain is OUTSTANDING & Nice Color Too!
When looking for a waterproofing stain Thompson WaterSeal Waterproofing Stain stands out because of the color choices & ease of use. As you can see the back stoop was never sealed & this Maple Brown hid a few wood scars. The Stain went on easily & very quickly. Was able to get between boards with a brush because the stain is less thick than paint but more fluid than just plain stains or waterproofing liquids. When it came to clean up, it was a breeze! Soap & water cleaned the Roller & Brush quickly. The dry time is quick also. Before writing this review the tackiness was a dry surface with a hint of moisture but not sticky in any way. Made the back stoop look much better. A little went a long way too! Now if it only was a little less expensive...

I used this on my worn deck seat and picnic table. They were stained many years ago and I want to protect them for a few more years of use. This covered the old stain and blended with the old color to make a weathered look. I can't believe how it smoothed out the feel of the wood and sealed all the cracks in the wood! It even makes it feel smooth again like new wood instead of dry & ruff. Hoping for a few less splinters too! Highly recommend this and there was almost no smell at all. Cleaned up the brush with just soap & water! I tried it on the decking without as much success.

This stain produces a nice result – it provides for an even finish with some of the wood grain still showing through. It seems to do an excellent job protecting the wood – you can see the water beading up when it rains. I’ll be curious to see how long the color lasts. I used a solid Thompson’s Waterproofing Stain on my lower deck about 15 months ago & it’s beginning to peel and crack in some places. It still doesn’t look bad, it’s just not going to make it to 5 years like it states. It’s easy enough to apply though, so as long as this stain makes it a couple years I’ll be happy.
Also worth noting - true to its claim, it is truly no-stir. You can simply pour and begin applying. I've gotten burned by stain that wasn't completely mixed before, so that was a nice bonus!
