I was a bit reluctant to try this after reading some of the reviews about it staying tacky and not drying properly, but I had no problems on concrete pavers. We used a small 4" roller to apply; the small roller did better than a full-sized one at getting into the bevels between pavers. For 120 square feet, we used about 1 gallon, so our coat was a bit thinner than recommended by the label. It was totally dry and not tacky at all by the end of the day (I'm in a very dry western climate so drying might take longer someplace more humid). We got an unexpected rain overnight and by morning the sealer was doing exactly what it was supposed to - water was beaded up on the surface and not soaking into the pavers (see photo).
Note that I used this on concrete pavers that will form the foundation for a small garden shed; we didn't apply it to the wood railroad ties or any other material.

I've used Thompson's Waterproofer for decades with great results. It is the tried and true product for protection from the elements. For this application I used it on the wood siding on my house after pressure washing. I used a pump up sprayer to apply it, and followed up with a brush to even it out. After one coat dried the wood passed the beading test with flying colors, the water I splashed on beaded beautifully. You simply can't go wrong with this product.

This sealer was very easy to use. There was almost no change to the color of the deck with the application. Its effectiveness is evident when it rains though. Water beads dramatically on the surface. After reading the reviews of others I stayed off the surface for two days to allow to cure. When I checked after that time period the surface was not tacky to the touch.
Overall happy with the product, and its application. I would recommend it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 1ProHandiman A must have for deck preservation after pressure washing!
Thompson's 5 gal. Clear Multi-Surface Water proof water seal is a must have item after a deck or outside wood has been pressure washed. Pressure washing opens up wood pores and releases dirt, grime, and the preservative material that has been applied to the wood. The preservative material that was applied to the wood to preserve is now gone. It is imperative that the wood needs to be resealed to stop rot and decay. Thompson's clear multi-surface water sealer is the barrier between rot and decay that will preserve your wood and other porous surfaces. It goes on easy with a roller or sprayer for quick application. Just read the directions and go! We love this stuff!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wilson Thompson's WaterSeal Clear Multi-Surface Waterproofer
I use the Thompson's® WaterSeal® Multi-Surface Waterproofer on the back yard fence. I like the clear so the wood can gray naturally. The water proofer sprays on easily for quick application. You can also brush or roll on, I just prefer to spray. The 5 gallon can covers up to 1000 square feet so the entire fence can be covered with one container front and back. I usually apply on 2 forecasted sunny days because you need to allow 24 hours for drying.

I wish it was clear! It was that milky white UN-SPRAY-ABLE stuff. Had to do my entire board on board fence by brush. It does the job of sealing, but I probably will never buy Thompsons again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pitchfork New Formula NOT FOR CONCRETE! Stay Away!
Have used TWS products in past with good results however, this product is AWFUL for concrete surfaces. I have a 3 yr old covered 25'x13' front porch with a concrete floor which had never been sealed. As per label instructions, I cleaned thoroughly and dried for 4 days prior to application. Humidity was 45-65% with temps in the 58-83 degree range with no rain during and four days after application. A light and even coat of this product was applied with a roller at the label recommended 250 sq ft/gal rate for concrete. FOUR DAYS LATER THE CONCRETE IS STILL STICKY AND VERY SPLOTCHY! I
I should have read the reviews on Amazon and elsewhere before buying this product. I have contacted the manufacturer to determine how to resolve this unacceptable issue!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gerg Keeps my brick fieplaces clean and dry
When I was prepping my house for paint I decided to pressure wash the exterior brick on my two fireplaces. I didn't realize how dirty and dull they had become. Once they dried I grabbed my pump sprayer I use for staining my fence and deck and loaded the waterproofer. I placed a ladder on each side of both chimneys so I could just keep working once I started and sprayed both from the top to the bottom. The material went on easily and dried fairly quickly. Now when it rains the water runs off and when I run my pressure washer it takes much less time and effort to rinse off any new dust and dirt.
