Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by diy101 Great coverage and easy to apply with pump sprayer!
After reading reviews about product thickness, I was skeptical too, but once I started and saw the results I was impressed!. Had no issues with pump sprayer and it made things faster...initially used roller last year on front side of fence. Sure there may be more expensive stuff out there but this does what I need it to do...no ugly gray fence!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stheo Surprisingly Easy Application
This was my first time doing such a large project by myself. Instructions on the can were easy, the canister to apply the sealant was easy. I hesitated in doing the job, especially in the heat of South Florida. Also, since I am a woman, I was reluctant and kept telling myself, I should have a man do the application. It had to be done and it came out amazingly well! When spraying the surface of my fence, the sealant saturated and covered all surfaces well. The day after I was so proud of myself, especially since it was easier then I thought. My fence looks amazing and a few neighbors came over to compliment me on how well Thompson's Water Seal made a huge difference in the way my fence now looks. One thing, I should have worn a mask, due to the wind blow back during application on that day. Next time I will apply on a windless day. That was the only downside!

Thompson's Water sealer is a fabulous product, it seals and keeps the water on top of the wood. We used it for our enormous deck. I give it a 10!!!!!

The liquid applies well. The shaking of the liquid is required but difficult as the content is heavy. The discharge spout could be longer so that there is less spill- I place a plastic sheet on floor to collect the spill.

I'm not very knowledgeable in the care and maintenance of wood decks so there may be better, longer lasting products out there. My experience with this product is it last about 2 years. You need to clean your deck completely first before applying this product, that's the hard part. Once your deck is cleaned and dry, it is easy to apply the Thomson's with a garden sprayer. Follow the application directions on the can's label. My deck is about 800 Sq. ft., it took most of the 5 gal. to complete. Cost about $68 with tax for 5 gal can.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Greg Cannot be sprayed with garden sprayer!!
I have been using Thompsons Waterseal for years on our deck but this will be my last time. I always prefer to spray the product, should have listened to several of the reviews here. I decided to try the clear waterproofing The instructions indicate this can be sprayed with a"garden spayer", not so, at least with the two sprayers I tried. I knew as soon as I saw how thick the liquid was from the can it may be an issue. First spayer clogged right away, second put it out sporadically. We ended up rolling it on. That worked fine but does not cover in the crevices as well as spraying.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Willis Works Great - Have the Right Expectations
I found this product to be excellent, because
a) I did not expect to be spraying it; I planned to brush or pad it on from the beginning - this gets the product into the wood better than spraying.
b) My pressure-treated pine was seasoned, clean, dry, and ready to absorb a sealer
c) It is extremely hard to find a clear treatment which does not have some tint or opacity
d) Seems quite a good value, and water still beads almost a year later
Like anything, the product darkens the wood a little when you apply it. But after a couple of weeks of sun and drying, it looks really good, like new lumber. Doing a good job of prep-cleaning is probably one of the keys.
