Answer:
Yes, for the length. If you have to rip a strip off the 6" width to fit your wall, you may have to mark that manually, depending on where you decide to place that strip. (Sometimes it looks better to put a full-width strip along an edge and place the smaller-width strip elsewhere.)
I will be using this tool for planking.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 19 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Tool to Have This is a good tool for 12" and up tiles in a diagonal pattern It is too big to use with 12" tiles in a straight pattern. Keeping that in mind, it works well for measuring and marking the last row against a wall in a diagonal install. Made from plastic, it feels fairly but not overly sturdy. This is a handy tool to have, but not something I would use very often. January 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool, but only for larger tile Be aware that this is designed for the following uses and sizes: 17 in. x 17 in. to 30 in. x 30 in. tile on a straight installation or 12 in. x 12 in. to 20 in. x 20 in. tile on a diagonal installation. I'd definitely like to see a version for smaller tiles, but this was a huge help for the large tiles we used in a diagonal installation for our dining room/sun room. The room was a screened-in porch on a very old house, and way out of square, so this helped us overcome the inconsistencies that brings. January 21, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Size of Tiles and Straight Cuts This is a good tool, but pay attention to its limitations. Someone had mentioned earlier that the specs said that the tool could be used for 8 x 8 inch tile and larger, but was disappointed because that didn't turn out to be true. Well, the specs online are correct now. It says right there that it's for 17" tile and larger. But did I pay attention to that? No! So don't be a dork like I was, and make that mistake. My tile is 13", so I can't use it. Darn it. I'd like to see a smaller version at Home Depot. I wanted to note that if all you are doing is straight cuts to fill in the space up to your wall, you can use another tile in pretty much the same way, of course. You just have to account for the width of the grout lines yourself, manually, when marking. December 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tip for smaller tiles with this tool Tip for the folks who bought this tool and have smaller tiles. 1: install feild tiles. 2: place your tiles to be cut one row back of the last full tile . 3. Add the measure of your full tile exp. 6" if you have 6" tiles . Use the tool just like the video says. February 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Working Great for my tile project... This is the tool I needed! I am having to cut around different size walls and walkways... It's a time saver... Home Depot had the best price too. I would however go to their website or YouTube to watch their video on how to use. January 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Helped me achieve a great result I've done a few tile projects before, but this was my first diagonal installation and this thing made it a breeze. Kinda pricy for what it is, but it would have been hard to accomplish the same excellent result without it. December 30, 2014
