This shower base should be a mandatory style in home construction. this preformed pan offers a leakproof alternative to typical PVC liners. Backer board, tile installation and all other trades will not damage this pan during construction. This is an issue with PVC pans ,trades do not take care when working around typical shower liners.
The epoxy works well and the entire system reduces remodel time enough to help generate more profit.
The only down side to this pan is the cost. I believe $590.00 is steep compared to the actual production cost of the item.
But if a tileable leakproof pan is important to you, this is an excellent product. This paticular model was for a tub replacement. Saved from having to break up the slab to relocate the drain.
I will use these types of products again.

The product appears thick and sturdy; however the design is fair. The slope of surface is rather steep so if you use mosaic floor tiling, it may not look so pleasant by the drain unless your shave your tiles so that grout lines look more evenly sized or add some cement to smooth pitch out. Also my floor tiles were thick and the drain is not adjustable and comes with short screws for its short fixed thread so I have to find a new drain or drain cover or screws that would fit just right into threading ( my Italian made porcelain floor tiles are higher than the drain by 1/8 BEFORE the tile cement). Ordinarily, I've seen drains that can be screwed higher or lower but now I have to buy a new drain cover which I guess is not so bad because now I've found some nice drain covers with built-in hair traps. If I had to do it all over, I would have done it the old fashion way with lining so that the pitch and drain height would be just as I liked it or purchased the finished white shower pans which are cheaper and probably I can tile over those finished pans; I would have to by a new drain and re-slope the surface either way. The specifications on this product should have been clearer with respect to pitch and fixed drain height. At least state allowable maximum thickness of floor tiles before I made my investment and adhered my product to my floor. Now I have no choice but to work with what I have.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by kelly24 Great prduct!
Great product to work with. Not mentioned in the literature that I read, the tile is epoxied which is harder to clean up after. Also, our application was on a concrete slab. The pan came with PVC drain connection. That make it a little tricky to make the connection. Cast iron drain with a compression gasket would have been much quicker to make the drain connections. I will use this product in my next installation. Richard

Really not worth the price but it does make it easier to place and hoping to have piece of mind and no leaks in the future.

Tile Ready makes a great but expensive product. The base saves time and money and looks great when tile by a professional. It was delivered quick;y and without shipping charge. I have used the product before but did not know it was available from Home Depot.

We used this pan to replace a tub. We chose it b/c we wanted a seem-less, custom look w/o the hassle of pouring a cement pan. Also, ours is raised up to accommodate plumbing, so I was worried about the weight of all the cement. There is quite a bit of work that goes with the installation. The base has to be set in cement and then tiled with epoxy thin set. I am not sure about the black drain pvc piece. It looks a little cheap for such a pricey unit. We'll see with time I guess.
