Good for complete remodel if replacing backerboard and new base, if you are just replacing the base and want to try and slide these behind its very diffucult. It requires bending the metal and bending it back over the redi tile base. It can be done but then requires constant pressure on the installed tiles until the mortor dries. Another option to close the gap between the base and wall is to use a paint on membrane like from laticrete .

Don't be fooled into thinkin this is some special flashing made for the tile redi base. You can make this with standard aluminum flashing and a brake if you want. I was dissapointed when I received it, finding I paid so much and the end was bent from shipping.
I think the flashing s a good idea for the shower though. $50 might save thousands in water damage.
