Answer:
I don't see why not. You might need to make sure that you seal it very well around the opening with some vinyl molding and silicone. I'd suggest talking to a professional first, though.

I understand that the edges that but up against each other are caulked but what about the outer edges? Do we have to somehow cap them or trim them out with molding?

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it The Pearl Marble Tile Kit was the finishing touch to a remodel of our outdated bathroom. Installation was simple. I recommend buying eight or nine tubes of the wall glue, and trimming both sides of the back panel when necessary to adjust for fit (gives it a symmetrical finish). September 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT LOOKING! THIS WALL LOOKS GREAT. THE PICTURE ON THE SITE DOESN'T DO IT JUSTICE. VERY HAPPY WITH THE PRODUCT. IT WAS VERY EASY TO INSTALL. HAD TO CUT IT DOWN A LITTLE TO FIT AND THAT WAS EASY TO DO AS WELL. April 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking bath surround I had to install a bath surround in a bathroom that had what looked like Masonite walls with a printed pattern similar to formica on the surface. The joints were aluminum strips that protruded 1/8 inch above the flat surface. I was concerned that these aluminum strips would have to be removed so the surround would lay flat. When I opened the package I was pleased to see that this surround had 1/4 inch foam backing. I removed the foam where the aluminum strips were located and it then laid perfectly flat. I also removed the foam around the fixtures and where the shower bar had to be mounted. I cut pieces of 1/4 inch plywood for backing so there would be no dimples around the faucets and shower bar mounts. I cut it with a sharp utility knife and a straight edge. The piece to be removed peels nicely by hand once you get it started. I also removed a 1/4 inch strip of foam around the total perimeter that I filled with 100% silicone caulk before I installed it. The completed installation looks great. Has a nice shine. My only complaint is that the online description was inadequate as the foam backing was not mentioned. January 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty but color NOTHING like description!!! Overall the kit is pretty simple and straightforward. The panels are sturdy once up against the tub wall. The directions are clear. My biggest whine is in the actual description of the product. It is no where NEAR white marble! The 6" squares are medium gray with darker gray marbling thru them and the grout lines are pure white. There is a spattering of whispy white shot thru the pattern but if you're seeking a white marble look with light gray whisps occasionally splattered throughout (like real marble) then this is NOT the product for you. I was in a pinch and kept it anyway & it does look nice but not what I thought I was purchasing. Will be installing it this wknd. and may update the review when that's done. August 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks nice! Color is inaccurate, but I like it This is nice, its pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I like that it looks just like tile but there is no grout to scrub. It goes up super easy and is so easy to maintain. I'll never buy real tile again if i can get this as an alternative. One thing worth mentioning is the color. The description says its white and its not. Its more of a gray/white marble leaning more toward the gray. Its NOT what i expected, but i was pleasantly surprised as my floor tile and granite top are both gray. It worked out perfect for me! October 6, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fair, but not great product Strightforward installation, easy for the DIY to install. Cons: Poor packaging, mine was creased at the "grout" lines on the back panel. Color is more silver/gray than white, and does not resemble real tile, far too glossy "Grout" lines and top of panels do not align..it's an either/or Too short to cover most old tile installations in this part of the country, will require additional wall prep/texture blending if replacing old tile installation Adhesive required...mfr states 6 tubes, reviews said additional would be needed. Took 10 to get complete coverage of all areas Somewhat flimsy, but should be OK when done Good product if you don't have the skills/time/money for a real tile installation, and looks decent installed. Did ship much faster than estimated on the site...had it in 4 days from NJ to OK March 29, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice but returning looks great, however the color is gray-silver more on the darker side of gray, not what I expected. I really thought it would be more in the white color. really too bad the color was so far off, the product is foam backed which I thought would be great, I will be returning and looking for something different July 1, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't Waste Your Time I bought this shower enclosure based on the kind reviews, however I found it not to be even close to the ease of installation or looks suggested by the reviews. The back wall was dented in several places but I needed to get the job done and it was just going in a small apartment so I proceeded with the installation. The walls were very flexible, actually quite floppy, certainly less rigid than I expected. The flexibility makes it difficult to dry fit to the space after cutting to the proper dimensions. The edges curl especially at the curved finished edges which creates issues once the glue is applied. The pressure of the curled edge pulls the product away from the wall and the setting glue and I had to spend hours pushing the corners back into place as the product pulled away from the walls. Don't waste your time with this product, its a pain to install, looks cheap like the shiny plastic it is, dents easily instead choose a rigid shower enclosure or a regular tile installation.
