These work great for the first or second time you use them. After that they are almost impossible to set. I have tried to make them continue working by adjusting the spring and using less bait. No matter what I do, the traps will not stay set.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mouseman Most effective trap I have ever used
I saw these traps and thought they were kind of hokey, but the mice were escaping the usual wooden snap traps almost all of the time, and I needed to try something different. I was amazed that I caught 6 mice in 4 days recently ( in the summer). I think they were coming in to escape the heat. I had 2 traps set next to each other, and I caught 2 at the same time! I used the Tomcat gel bait, and I think this stuff must be like cocaine for mice.
I set these traps on a high narrow ledge in the basement, and when a mouse is caught, it inevitably falls off the ledge onto the floor, and when it lands, the upper lid often becomes unhinged from the base. When I put the trap back together, I have had problems getting the trap to set open, as many have previously stated. I took the spring off and stretched it a tiny bit, and it seemed to work OK again.
These traps are very sensitive- I wonder if they set off prematurely if the bait is too heavy.
So far, I am extremely impressed with these traps. And I think the bait is incredibly attractive to mice. Just bought more traps for the attic.

These things are junk!!The mouse was caught by the body and then drove the trap all around the floor.I like the design and idea of the trap but its not enough snap to do the job.The hubs had to pull a mob job on the mouse.

I bought three of these traps and only one set normally. I watched a chipmunk set it off in daylight, without getting caught, then literally drag it off four feet to try to get at the peanut butter... The other two simply will not even set, something with the alignment... Total waste of money. If they actually set at all, I'd be less inclined to feel this way.

I like this trap initially- easy to set and pretty effective at killing mice.
However, after one or two settings the jaws won't stay open.
They keep shutting and don't allow setting the traps.
There seems to be no way to adjust the spring to allow proper setting of the trap.

I bought a 2-pack of the mouse traps on 5/13/16 and they have absolutely failed. I set both traps with a tiny piece of cheese in the circle indicated on the trap. I've done this the past two nights. Both mornings afterwards, the cheese is gone but the trap did not catch the mouse. I wish I had bought conventional traps, but I had never heard of this brand and the guy at the hardware store recommended it. I would like a refund, please! If you send me a postage paid envelope I will gladly send you the traps!

Had mice in a jeep that I don't drive very often & set sticky traps & the mice would get out. Saw the Tomcat Traps and thought why not. Except for putting two face tape on the bottoms so they wouldn't move around they have worked great. 3 mice in 3 days! Set them with peanut butter on the back of the plate and dead mice. Will buy more for other areas. SO easy to set and SO easy to get rid of the dead mouse.
