Tool Box Kit (12-Pack) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from kid size tool box Kid's Tool Boxes The three that my kids did came out great! Glue is needed in the cutouts, and there are small stamped holes that are guides for where to hammer in the nails. You will need an extra hand to hold down the box when you get the nails started, and make sure that the angle is toward the side board or it may pop out like 1 corner did on ours. Four other boxes were given to other families with no complaints thus far, and they finished theirs before I did. They were fun and fast to build and we painted some and stained another, my three year old placed her painted hand print on the ends so now this is a keepsake for many years to come. 4 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from fun for cubscouts project We used this kit for our Bears Den to earn a badge for woodworking. The kits are easy for the kids to do mostly by themselves, with supervision of course. You will need a small hammer and some glue to assemble the tool boxes. After they are assembled, the kids were free to paint and decorate them as they wished. Fun project, and makes a useful item too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from These were very cheap, flimsy toolbox kits. I ordered these for our cub scouts to build, but they are very small and thin. I bought and cut out our own kits for less than half the price. I wanted these toolboxes to be something the scouts could use for many years. I returned the purchase

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 10+ kit I planned on using these as table centerpieces, but i didn't get enough put together in time. The instrructions are fairly easy to read and understand. All of the pieces except fot the bottom are made out of wood, so the box can be painted or stained. I had a difficult time getting the pieces to stay in place while I was hammering the nail in. It takes quite a bit of muscle to hammer in the nails. I actually bent two nails. I eventually gave up and used screws.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun Project These kits come individually packaged with all the pieces and nails needed to build a child size tool box. Purchaser provides the hammers and wood glue necessary to complete the project. My grandson and nephews really enjoyed the project, the only problem we ran into was the wood was so thin it split easily. While it is labeled "Good for children 5-12 years" I would suggest 7-12 might be better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cute Activity These tool box kits are a cute and easy to do activity. So far I have done one with each of my kids, ages 8, 6 and 3. The 8 year old was able to fully hammer in the nails (I started them) and take care of the glue in the handle. The 6 year old did a few pounds of the hammer and took care of the glue. And the three year old was really just interested in the glue. And all three enjoyed applying the included stickers. (The stickers don't stay on particularly long but the kids had fun with them. I think we'll end up extending the project and painting the tool boxes.) Everything you need is included in the kit except wood glue and a hammer. (And sand paper but we skipped that step since we didn't think the wood was rough.) You could probably even do without the wood glue, but might as well make sure the handle stays put. This would be a great activity for a party, play date or just boring Saturday. By myself I could put together a tool box in about 5 minutes but depending on how old the kid working with you is and how much they are involved it could take longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to assemble, Light sanding might be needed, Easy to paint with latex and concrete paint Although I will be using some of these toolbox kits as they were intended, I decided to use these for Easter baskets. The instructions are straight forward - use wood glue or in my case regular Elmer's glue in the joints, and piece together the kits as the manual states. I did find that by holding the side while nailing the triangular ends into the sides prevented the sides from curving inward. If I made a mistake when hitting the nail wrong and it bent in the wrong direction, the nails were easy to remove - this was done before the glue dried. In addition, having the holes marked for nails also sped up the construction process. I also lightly sanded the edges of the assembled tool box using a 220-grit sanding block. I also like having the option to decorate the tool box kit either with the enclosed stickers, with paint, or with nothing. For the pictures enclosed, I used OOPS paint: Behr Interior Flat, Eggshell, and Premium plus Ultra paint as well as Tan Granite Grip Concrete Paint (for a textured stone look). The regular paints took only two coats; however, the concrete paint needed five coats to achieve the desired look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Birthday Party Activity I was so excited to find out that these easy-to-assemble tool box kits existed! As a mom of 2 young boys, I'm always looking for projects and activities that we can do at their birthday parties. When I saw this 12-pack, I knew it would be perfect for our 3 year old's construction themed party. Each kit comes with just a few pieces that can be easily assembled, with the help and supervision of an adult. Although the kits are recommended for kids aged 4 and up, I think they're definitely an option for younger children (with supervision). The kit includes everything needed to compete. For the younger kids, we recommend assembling one end, the bottom and both side. Then we had them secure the wooden dowel handle and put on the final end (with the 4 nails necessary to secure). It's just enough to make them feel like they made it! Each kit comes with stickers--a definite bonus. You could also provide additional options for the kids to decorate--paint, stickers, put their names on. The possibilities are endless. What an affordable, practical, sturdy favor for your child's next party, event, or visit with friends. I can't recommend this highly enough!
