I want to mount this to a masonry wall and would prefer to use the small holes with masonry screws. It recommends that but doesn't say the size of the small holes.

Answer:
The two small holes on all of the Tornado products are just shy of 3/16”. You could:
- Mark the two holes where they want to place the hook
- Pre-drill two holes with a 5/32 MASONARY drill bit and use a 3/16 Tapcon to mount the hook. (Use a 3/16 x 1-14 Philips or hex head.)
- May be a little tight, however the screw should go all of the way to the concrete with the hook.

- Not probable, but you may have to ream out the hook holes just a tad with a 3/16 metal drill bit before installing.
- If it is block, do not install into the mortar section of the concrete block.

I want to hang a tandem bike 40 + pounds horizontally. I'm thinking four hooks total two hooks in-front of the front seat and two hooks in front on the back seat.

Answer:
You would need to use anchors designed for brick / concrete that are able to hold the actual weight of the bike. There is information on the package noting that if this is being installed in concrete you are to use the small holes on the hook. The diameter of the small holes is about 3/16".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my needs We use these hooks in a manufacturing facility to hold orbital sanders on tool boards. They work great for this. They can be bent slightly to hold the tool and the rubber coating seems to grab on to the orbital. I must have bought 50 of them so far.
