If you are buying a cord, if 100 feet or less get 14 gauge wire

Prices of the extension cord would vary depending on where you buy it.

You do need an extension cord; preferably as on the box: 14 gauge up to 100 ft or 12 gauge up to 150 ft. Cost for the 14 gauge was about $40.00 for 100 ft at Home Depot.

Answer:
There is a small extension-like cord that is about 6" long. You only use it to attach your own extension cord to it. Make sure you need the manual - the Toro is quite powerful and needs a properly rated extension cord to get the right amount of power to function.

The extension cord is not included. Use only a polarized plug, UL-listed extension cord recommended for outdoor cold-weather use. For an extension cord with a length of 100 feet use a minimum wire gauge (A.W.G.) of 14. For an extension cord with a length of 150 feet use a minimum wire gauge (A.W.G.) of 12.
Note: Do not use an extension cord over 150 feet.

Of course it has to be plugged in. I just cleaned my driveway yesterday with it. The driveway is not perfectly cleaned of snow but it is acceptable. The snow was the height of the blower’s body. By the way, I am 79 years old. You can’t beat it for the money and it takes almost no space in the garage.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 150 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not powerful enough to move snow over 2" and only blows it 5' at best The specifications say it can blow snow up to 25' which just isn't true. I have a double car driveway and I had to go over it 3 times just to get the snow off because it only blew it 5' across no matter what I did. This model is good for snow less than 2" and doing single driveways and sidewalks. I was very disappointed in it. February 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for some snow This worked well with really dry snow. It blew it really high (watch for the direction of the wind) and in a general direction. I wish I could have changed the arc of the blown snow, though (it was blown REALLY high). It also wouldn't work on the more frozen and wet snow underneath. But it got through some of the bank at the end of the driveway. January 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The 1500 power curve does a great job blowing snow! Today we had 8 inches of new snow. What would have taken me over half a day to shovel I did in less than 20 minutes and then did my neighbor's drive in less than 15 minutes. Easy to operate, light weight and safe to use on wooden decks. I am well pleased and highly recommend the 1500 power curve for snow removal. My drive is a 2 car drive and it handled the removal well. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing. Not capable of handling more than 1-2" of snowfall, and who needs to blow that little snow? December 2, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Elec. snowblower Only had one snow since purchase, but it worked as expected on the deck. So far so good. December 8, 2015
