Customer Questions & Answers

Are there any attachments actually available for this unit or is that just a way to get people to buy it?

I have looked on the Toro website and found nothing. I see nothing at Home Depot's website either. Same is true for Amazon. You would think that if there were attachments that they could be found on the Toro site - Nada!
Asked by: ElViejo
I have a Toro trimmer, and Ryobi attachments fit perfectly. The Toro Trimmer has been excellent for a few years, with no problems. I weed wack, trim tree branches, and edge with the different attachments! Plenty of power, and starts up after two pulls every time.

How do I load the string?

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for asking, Stan. To load the string on your Reel-Easy string head for this trimmer, you will follow these tips: Cut one piece of line approximately 25 ft. (7.6 m) in length. Rotate knob on string head until line on knob aligns with arrows on top of string head. Insert one end of line into eyelet located on either side of the string head and push until line comes out through eyelet on the other side. Continue to push line through the string head until the middle section of the line is inside the string head and line outside the string head is evenly divided on each side. While holding the string head in one hand with your other hand, rotate the knob on the string head clockwise to wind the line. Wind the line until approximately 8 in. (203,2 mm) remains protruding from the string head. I hope this helps and we appreciate your interest in Toro! -Keri

Does the trimmer head spin counter clockwise or clockwise (while in cutting position-looking down at the trimmer)?

I ask becuse I just bought another brand and took it back because while cutting and trimming looking down at the timmer while its spinning the head rotates counter clockwise and throws all the debris back on my legs and feet. So I took it back. So wanted to know if this model does before I buy one.

Thank you for asking, Keith. This string trimmer string head would move in a counter clockwise rotation. I hope thi shelps and we appreciate your interst in Toro! -Keri

can craftman pole saw attachments fit Toro gas trimmers?

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for asking, GF. This 2-cycle power head is attachment capable. However, this power head is not compatible with Craftsman attachments. You can only use the Ryobi Expand-It attachments. Please contact Craftsman to see which power heads are compatible with their attachments. The pole saw attachment from Home Depot and Ryobi that would work for this unit is the RYPRN33. I hope this helps and we appreciate your interest in Toro! -Keri

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This is a Homelite Really upset when I found out that I spent $180 on a Homelite weed eater. I found out when I had to use the warranty to repair a fuel issue and you have to call into the Homelite warranty center. This is a Homelite with a Toro sticker. Otherwise it has been a decent weed eater. Good product, but I am just not happy about being deceived.

I was a little hesitant based on other reviewers who mentioned starting issues. I'm happy to say I haven't had 1 issue since owning this trimmer. It started up great this season with no issues after heavy use last season. I also bought the tiller attachment which has been great for my garden. I would definitely recommend!

But still need some improvements, such as; 1- weight reduction, too havey to control nice trimming. 2- strings doesn't come out sometimes .. I had to do it manually few times. 3- Bottom came off suddenly while I was trimming. Funny thing I had to chase it.

I've owned this trimmer for two years now and used it hard on forested hillside acreage. This thing is a beast, exactly what I wanted as a mid-range between the cheap junk and expensive pro models. Tank of gas lasts over two hours, load of line lasts about 4 hours with heavy use around rocks, stumps, and brush. Line feeder works every single time you bump it, never snarls. Fairly easy to load string. Starts easily every time, even after winter storage. An excellent value for the money. I am not associated with Toro or HD in any way, just a guy who loves it when a product works great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good little trimmer Out of the box started on second pull unlike my previous model. It idles good and accelerates fast. I use itwith brush cutter pprimarily and it is really impressive. What I really like about it is that it is reliable, I use only premixed fuel so that may account for the easy starts. The reason for 4 stars is that it is a little heavy, not terrible like my last trimmer but not as light as some of the more expensive models. The other negative is the head rotation, it turns counterclockwise as all expandit power heads do and you get pretty dirty using it but I knew this going in. Bottom line a good purchase, I hope this helps.
