No, it does not make a loud noise like other gas mower. From small distance you wont even hear if mower is running or not.

Answer:
The electric motor is very quiet compared to a gas engine. The e-Cycler is environmentally friendly and is best used for low-maintenance, emissions-free electric mulching performance for lawns up to 10,000 square feet.

Answer:
I ordered my Toro Cordless Electric mower online because I have arthritis and cannot lift more than 50 lbs. I tracked the UPS delivery and was home when it arrived. It was fully assembled in the box with the handle folded down. It only required the battery to be fully charged before using. It's quiet and easy to use. I sold my 25 year old Honda mower at a garage sale and gave away the gas can.

Answer:
Yes it will cut without the bag on. I never use the bag. It does not have a side discharge on this new model. My old Toro that I purchased in 1996 did have this feature of optional side shoot. Toro must have eliminated this feature which used the least power. I do miss the feature.

It either mulches or uses the bag. It will not side discharge. There is not enough power to blow the grass into the bag.

I miss the side shoot that could be attached and it is no longer an option on the rechargable mower. I just plain wore the housing on my old mower out. I miss the one lever for back wheels and one lever for both front wheels to raise and lower the wheels; it is now a lever per wheel and just not as easy to change the height as my 15 yr old Toro was. I think this change in mower hgt adjusting was a cost saving measure for the company and is a mistake. But I really am happy with the mower despite the changes! Read Less

The Toro e-Cycler is a 36-volt recycler mower that comes standard as a mulching and bagging unit with an optional rear discharge attachment available. It is 20” wide and 77 lbs. Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 95 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Only Buy If You Plan on Replacing Soon I purchased this Toro electric mower a year ago as a result of reading some user and critics reviews. The battery is starting to give out, but that is not the main issue. This lawn mower has never cut or mulched well, let alone cut evenly. In tall (3 inches or more) or wet grass situations, I cannot mow more than 10 feet without the mower battery stalling. My lawn is only a quarter acre and yet the battery is not sufficient to finish the job. I have to recharge the battery for 3 hours and come back outside again. Do not buy this lawn mower. If you do decide to continue with your purchase, have the expectation that you will be replacing it soon. April 28, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst lawnmower I've ever owned Unit doesn't cut well (brand new blade), cut grass clogs up at entrance to grass catcher, and it's heavier than any mower I've used. It does, however, start easily, but loses a cutting power about halfway through my quite small front lawn. June 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Who would have thought.. This is my second battery powered mower. The first one was OK, but this one is better. The 36 volt battery gives it more cutting power. I was afraid the bigger battery would make it too heavy. This is not the case. At 20 inches wide it is 2 inches wider than the last one which I had for 12 years. The wider cut saves me one trip around the yard. The old one and the new one are Toro. After 12 years the old one would not hold a charge and since the deck was beginning to rust a little I opted for a new one. If I get 12 years out of this one I will be 72 and looking for someone else to mow the lawn. May 3, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Going green feels right I have a large yard and did not expect the mower to perform well over thick grass (from everything I read) so I made first cut on one section of yard high and went back over at lower setting. The second section I decided to try it at the lower setting and it cut OK. I finished well over half the yard before the mower started weakening which was well over an hour of run time. The cut quality was OK overall and I had to go over a few sections again. You definitely want it to be dry when you mow (no morning dew) and I can see why they recommend keeping the blade very sharp. Bagging was fair and mulching was good. The mower was light and easy to push. The best part was not burning all the gas and going green! June 26, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wheel Height Issues I'm a 40 year-old female and I found that the mower was light enough for me to maneuver without much effort. It arrived in excellent condition and held a charge long enough for me to mow 1/2 acre (flat land, few obstacles). Of course, I move pretty quickly when mowing. My chief complaint is that the wheel height adjuster on the left front wheel is a piece of garbage. Why would they use trash on one wheel of the mower only? I have to keep stopping in order to readjust the silly thing because it is flimsy and continuously slips out of position. Once I get this problem corrected, I'm sure that I will enjoy this mower for years to come. It is super quiet and I'm glad to be done with smelly gas cans in my car. June 28, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DOA out of the box At this point, I am not sure if the problem is operator error, or equpment failure. What I do know is the following: Toro has no one to talk to on the weekend. The recorded voices say over and over, to contact a local authorized serivce rep. After making several phone calls, I could not find a local Toro repair shop that worked on electrics. It may be that this product is too new, and unless you want to be on the bleeding edge, you should wait for the product and infrasturcture to shake out. The rating is a 1, but in truth, I have no idea if the product is any good or not. May 1, 2010
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job -- but not without flaws The absence of a side-discharge is disappointing, since that mode requires the least battery power. Also, when I received the lawnmower, one of the knobs for connecting the handle to the mower was completely destroyed (in shipment); Home Depot has promised to send a new one. The wheels are very cheap; they slip out of their height-mountings, and are poorly-designed; they're not even parallel. Finally, the unique key insertion in the body of the engine requires attention -- one cannot just leave it in the engine block after use, and one may forget it's there. Otherwise, this mower has a lot of power and does the job on a small lawn at least as well as other battery-powered mowers I have had (this is my third in 6 years). May 14, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by a little heavy I've only used this mower once so far. It cut beautifully, and the battery charges percectily. I used the mower for about 45 minutes and it didn't run out of juice. It's a good looking machine. Came easy to assemble. Only complaint is it is sort of heavy for me so I will probably go back to the corded electric when this one wears out - and changing the height of the cut is hard to do. Each wheel needs to be adjusted seperately. The plastic covers on two of the height adjustment levers came off while I was trying to change the height. I just sliped them back on. May 17, 2010
