Answer:
721 RC has a reinforced paddle and drive belt.
No need for shear pins.
Cleared my brother-in-laws driveway this weekend, where there was a pile of tile under the snow.
Snow and tile all flew up the shoot and out into the lawn. Now I wouldn't recommend this, but the Toro chewed it up and spit it out with ease.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 55 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent machine. Rugged, clears completely to pavement. Very easy to use. I have read many reviews on this machine. But to really get a true endorsement, look who uses these workhorses, your local snow removal contractor. Overwhelmingly it is the 721 RC. Those guys buy what works! This past season it threw all from powder to slop. It started every time with 2-3 pushes on primer and ONE pull. My attached garage is unheated though temps around 40. Use fresh mid grade or better gas. But this is true of all outdoor equipment. February 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I have used it once and it worked GREAT!! I LOVE the self propelling aspect of the unit. It moves at just the right speed. The adjustable snow throwing directional unit works very smoothly so as you turn you can change the direction easily. I have ONLY used the unit 1 time but I am excited to use it again. Let it SNOW!!! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Broke After One Use, Fragile Body Bought this item a month ago. Used it for the first time and cleaned the driveway fine from 3" of snow. When I got to the end of the driveway I wanted to clear the entrance from the street side. So I went down a 6” curb and the housing-auger bent easily and brace-frame (where the engine sits) completely broke... This machine is fragile and can’t take any minor abuse. Maybe I did not noticed but perhaps something was defective to begin with and going down a curb compounded the problem. Disappointed on quality. February 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Snowblower Works great. Used it yesterday for the first time. What a time saver! Easy to move and use. April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Skip the 2 Stage 12 inches to a light dusting this blower handles it all with ease. Throws thick heavy wet snow so hard it makes it through the cracks in the fence into the neighbors yard. Pile and the end of the driveway is not a problem. (He loves me). Not to suggest this can compete directly with a 2 stage blower, but I'll take the reduced weight and maneuverability anytime with this Toro powerhouse. The heavy paddle and drive clear the driveway with ease. Ignore the lack of power starting feature, this fires right up with the pull chord. I selected this model due to it's lack of fancy gadgets and shoot control devices. If you want a bare-bones blower with a rocket motor and reinforced drive components this is your model. Absolutely the best single stage blower I have owned. December 29, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not working in the 3rd times. Too many Toro snow blower is waiting for repairing. Compliated warranty process. Not working in the 3rd time. Warranty is slow and complicated. A lot of Toro snow blower are waiting for repairing (repairing time is long and you can know many toro's is also not working) I do not suggest to buy Toro 721 RC, or , do not suggest to buy Toro Snow blower. 1) I purchased a Toro 721 RC on Feb 24, 2015. I used 2 times only. It can work but the some snow will come out at the bottom when I using. Many snow was remained on the driveway of my garage (my drive is so good and smooth). I don't think it is a good quality machine. During summer, I have followed the manual to empty the tank for storage. 2) Nov 24, 2015, it is the 3rd time I used it. I cannot start it up. I bring it to Toro's authorized service dealer for checking and/or repair. The guide is nice. I have confirmed from him that they are authorized dealer and my machine is under warranty. But he asked me to wait for 3 week. He said that 200 unites Toro's snow blower is waiting for repairing. So I need to wait for 3 weeks. NOTE: so many Toro machines is waiting for repairing. You cannot estimate how may will be coming soon. You can understand Toro machines is always required to repair. 3) Dec 22, 2015, the dealer called me to pick up. It is 4 week later. When I come to the store, he asked me to pay US$120 for repairing fee. Of course I didn't pay because it is under warranty. He asked me to called Toro directly. And get a case number from Toro's manager. And then forward the case number to the dealer. So that he can try to further communicate. NOTE: I was confirmed that the machine is under warranty before lefte the machince. I didn't know I need to pay. Dealer didn't told me that I need pay before repaired the machine. 4) Today is Dec 22, 2015, I called the Toro's telephone number and would get a Case number. I can only leave a message. It said it will reply me 2 days. Summary-1) Poor quality : High volume of Toro snow blower are waiting to be repaired. You can know the quality. Summary-2) Complicated warranty process. I was told to contacted Toro directly after waiting for 4 week. By the way, if user need to contact Toro before do a warranty, why they didn't mention in the instruction ? December 22, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by This product needs re engineering in my opinion I have problems with the 721RC because of scraper and paddle design this snow blower kicks too much snow past scraper bar. I think it is hopping when paddle hits pavement causing snow to shoot underneath scraper leaving snow, so that i have to make additional passes to clean up. This not not just a break in problem with scraper and paddles, as i have already worn out one set already. Toro please come out with a fixed scraper retrofit, this blower is taking me twice as long to clean snow as before. Rip cord cuts into housing, then housing cuts rip cord November 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best purchase ever After 4 months of owning this great machine I figured today would be the perfect day to write a review. We got a foot of snow late last night and it was my job to get it off the driveway before my gf and I had to work at 0630. It fired up with just one pull and off we went. It showed no mercy as it slung the snow 15+ feet with ease. I was getting the job done so quick, seeing as it only took one pass to get down to concrete, that I decided to be a good neighbor and do both of my neighbor's driveways. This is one great machine and solid as a rock seeing as it's the commercial grade. Overall, if you don't own this machine you are missing out. Also it is 212CC beast so it can be kinda loud. You may owe your neighbors by doing there driveway if you do your driveway at 0530 like I did. January 6, 2015
