can this snow thrower use the gas and oil combination in a can

can this snow thrower use the gas and oil combination in a can
Asked by: jim
No, do not add oil to gasoline. For best results, use only clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher ((R+M)/2 rating method). Oxygenated fuel with up to 10% ethanol or 15% MTBE by volume is acceptable. Do not use ethanol blends of gasoline (such as E15 or E85) with more than 10% ethanol by volume. Performance problems and/or engine damage may result which may not be covered under warranty. Do not use gasoline containing methanol. Do not store fuel either in the fuel tank or fuel containers over the winter unless a fuel stabilizer is used.

During its first use on 2/9/17 (delivered 1/11/17), the snowblower lost several bolts, washers, and locknuts. I only have one remaining bolt for the discharge chute and missing bolts, washers, locknuts for the handle as well. Can I get these parts direct without going through a dealer? This seems time consuming and I am worried there will be a long wait time given the high demand for service. I live in the Northeast and the snow is flying.

Ended up losing one in the snow, so I drilled out a couple of washers to fit, drilled holes in the axle, and then installed cotter pins. Problem solved and now I have a 5 star snow blower. A better fix would probably just drill holes through the wheel caps and installing pins right away before using then loosing them.

I've been shoveling snow for 29 seasons...now an elderly lady in my mid 60's It just got to exhausting for me. Assembly supper easy and it came with a bottle of oil! I'm glad I chose the self propelled unit it was effortless clearing. This blower completely cleared the snow off the pavement. I even cleared both my neighbors sidewalks off. The only thing I'm not thrilled with is having to change the oil after 2 hours of use. In order to fold the the handle down you do have to take off the lower bolts and nuts. I give this blower 5 stars. I only purchase Toro products as I have NEVER had any problems throughout all the years.

However the quality inspection is horrible. Loose screws in the boxes that were suppose to have been installed. One wheel not installed, I had to go to the Toro dealer to get parts. The Toro dealer said that is real problem ordering the snow blower from stores (Home depot). This dealer puts the ones he sale together that he sells. The snow blower tech that assembled this one needs training, plus I would think you would have a quality check....as the Toro dealer suggested. Again, the machine works well, but one must be willing to finish final assembly that Toro does not do, or return it to the store.

I Had my last Toro single stage blower for almost 20 years and its still running! I ordered online delivered to the store. The pick up was easy and assembly was pretty easy, added the included oil and fresh gas and it started first pull. Didn't have and fresh snow to try so I used it to widen out the walkways and driveway. Worked great on about 9" of snow I thought to chute was pretty easy to move back and forth and angle the snow. Really threw the snow a long way I had to angle the chute down. I started the blower the next day and again it started first pull.

Bought the Toro 721 RC to use in case my 25+ year old 2000 ccr quit on me, but the old one is still going strong. I started to use the 721 RC due to street plowed snow build up at end of driveway and am quite pleased. Only problem I have with the 721 RC is the rinky-dinky wheels on an otherwise good performing snow blower that is used to clear snow in CT. I am thinking of doing some research on replacing the plastic child-toy-like wheels come this spring. For a commercial grade model you would think they could have included some real wheels.

I have had this snow blower (same model but has the 2 stroke instead of the 4 stroke motor) I can understand when it's very heavy snow it plugging up the shoot but it plugs in every kind of snow... I bought the toro because of the name but this is a poorly designed machine.. as far as the good ratings I would say give it time I have tried silicone sprays and everything else that was recomened but still it plugs up. I live in a subdivision and seems like I'm the only one with this problem... buy at your own risk

THe performance of this Toro is better. Just seems to throw the snow with greater gusto. When I received the Toro, I noticed one of the wheels had fallen off in the box. I put the wheel cap back on but it kept falling off. I called Toro support and they immediately sent out a part which I received in 3 days. The snowblower cover was also a good purchase since I'm keeping the Toro outside. It starts up fast and is easy to use. I'm glad I got the commercial unit, if only for the handlebar but I appreciate the long life paddles too. Sure you can replace them but it's a pain. The only minus is that the actuator lever keeps coming off--not really secured by anything--just slides into a hole in the handle.

I am the president of an HOA in Vancouver, Washington and recently we got historic snowfall of over 1 foot !. Even though it is made for up to about 8", it cleared the sidewalks down to bare pavement and saved so much time and back breaking work. It started right up and did a fantastic job. Its not designed to do a parking lot or really large area but it did a great job on the sidewalks. The self propel feature is so helpful & worth the little extra $$.
