We have had this now for a few months and have used it in some serious snow storms in Kansas City; the heaviest being over 12" of snow. It has performed very well; easy to start (electric start), even in sub-zero temps. Its also and easy to use; lightweight and easy to maneuver - works well on hills in both dry and wet snow. It also runs for quite some time on a single tank of gas. It is some of the best money we have ever spent. It has also absolutely out-performed my neighbors top-of-the-line Honda snow blower he just bought (though I generally hold Honda products in high regards). In fact I had to help them clear their driveway because their machine kept dying. Another nice feature is it has a small footprint taking up less space than many others. Get it; your back will thank you for it!

I bought an ealier version of this model a few years ago. At first it worked very well, though it is a little heavy. It blew snow as well as the 2 stage blowers my neighbors have. The weight of the snow blower made it more difficult however, to push through a heavy snowfall. I liked the electric start until it broke the 1st yr. I owned it. Then my frustration with this snow blower started because it would NEVER start on the first few pulls. I had adjustments made to the snow blower which were suppose to make it easier to start but they didn't last one winter. This year (2013), I got it out...filled it with a new gas/oil mixture and the darn thing refused to start after multiple attempts....trying several times during the day. I've given up and have purchased a new Honda Snow blower. I originally bought a Toro because of their reputation for reliability but I became VERY disappointed and frustrated with mine!!!

Delivery, from the factory in Minnesota, in only 3 business days is outstanding. Assembly and lubricant took just a few minutes. Just added fuel, plugged it in and we were clearing the driveway in less than 20 minutes. So far everything's been great. And great Home Depot service. This is the second product we've purchased this year (2011). The other was a chest freezer. Both with fast delivery and both are working fine.

We had about 14" with a 3' wall from the town plows at the front of our driveway. Handled the 14 inches but I was really worked about having to shovel the 3 foot wall! First I will tell you I got a single stage snow blower for ease of operation and maneuver. I was really afraid I made the wrong choice but it handled it. Here is the trick:
I cut an 18" path at one end of the driveway through the 3 foot wall, enough to get the Toro to be able to plow parallel to the snow bank. Take in snow using only half with width of the snowblower. As you push forward the snow bank collapses into the other half of the snow blower's deck and you will get enough torque to eject it. This was all of the manual shoveling I had to do.

One month into using this little snow blower, i am incredibly happy with my purchase. I use it on a concrete driveway that is approximately 100ft long (1 to 2 cars wide) and runs alongside the house for about 50-60% of the driveway length (requiring throwing snow forward before sideways). I also use it on patio bricks/stones. I can clear my driveway in 20-30 minutes with little to no cleanup with a shovel.
The snow blower runs fast - I have to speed walk to keep up with it when there is little snow on the ground - and it slows down when it chews through deeper snow and blown piles. It clears right down to the pavement provided that there is not hard-packed (driven on) uneven snow cover on the surface. On uneven, hard snow pack, it sometimes slips or pulls to the side and doesn't do an even clearing job because of the uneven contact of the auger.
The electric start has worked for me in temperatures as cold as -20 degrees Celsius and I have had success moving snow as deep as about 9 to 12 inches. Deeper or hard-packed snow piles take a couple passes to move all the snow, but it gets the job done. It also runs relatively quiet (don't need hearing protection).
It doesn't throw the snow very far (maybe 30-ish feet), but that is clear in the manufacturers specs.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Starlady This is one wonderful machine
I have always bought Toro lawn mowers and snow blowers. I must tell you, I am very careful with my money and I am kind of on the old side (76 years old) This snow blower is so easy to use and start. I live on a corner have a large driveway and not only do I blow my snow, but if I get out earlier I do the sidewalks for both of my nearest neighbors. You people make beautiful excellent running machines. This is my third snowblower in 40 years and when this one goes, I'll buy another. I do not even look at another machine. Thanks.

So I purchased this unit online from the Home Depot because they had a free shipping offer. Took some time, but it arrived at my door and the Purolator driver put it right in the garage. Everything in the box. Takes 20 minutes to assemble if you take your time. I live in Alberta and in this area we don't get huge snowfalls but we have wind and get large drifts.
I was worried this little snow blower looked like a toy - I bought it because of the reviews. I have used this little machine now for two months and it has impressed me. Very powerful and fast. Today I went out and cleaned my 30x30 driveway,400 feet of sidewalk and my neighbor's driveway - in about half an hour. I have electric start but only tried it to see if it works - these machines start the first pull every time and is so easy no need to bother with the electric start. These do a better job of getting right to the concrete than a two stage blower.
I'm very happy with this model. My only beef is with Toro's lineup of 621 machines. I didn't want to spend the extra $80 to get the quick chute. I mean come on Toro - a plastic handle and a cable and you gouge us for $80. Now I do wish I would have bought the one up with the quick chute - but $80. But if you're on a budget, get the cheapest 621 model - it will do the same fine job in the end.
Oh and this is my first snow blower. I'm 46 and regret not buying one years ago. And it makes living next to a lazy neighbor more bearable. I blow his sidewalk now so it's clean.

I have a large driveway (40' x 50') and was a little worried when purchasing this model that I might regret not getting a two-stage snow thrower. Turns out this thrower works like a charm and has plenty of power for my driveway. It has even handled a 12" snowfall without difficulty. It does a nice job of getting right down to the pavement and is easy to direct the snow where you want it to go. It is also quite easy to maneuver. Overall, it has exceeded my expectations. Nice job, Toro!
