Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jo I like this blower/mulcher
The instructions to this device were vague to me. I could not assemble it completely. The people at Home Depot helped me with the last of its assembly. The vacuum part is what I mainly needed. It doesn't have powerful suction, but that is good for a few reasons: 1) I won't pick up rocks or gravel and 2) The vacuum and the bag might weigh too much for me to handle if the motor had more power. My plants love the mulch, and I am not spreading leaves and dust to anyone's yard or on the street. I'm happy.

I was so excited to get this so I could keep my small yard clean. I wanted to be able to vacuum the patio so all the dirt and leaves wouldn't spread everywhere. The first one I bought had to be returned because the handle shocked me.
Returned it and just opened the replacement and the bottom won't come off to switch to the vacuum. I have struggled for 2 days, called Toro customer service which was no help since she couldn't see it. I was told to take it to an authorized dealer. So I get to pay to have it fixed? I think not.
It's going back to Home Depot and I'll buy another brand of blower. Not going to risk strike 3. Very disappointed.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Buzzard Don't bother. Toro can't package them correctly.
The bottom cover for the blower was the wrong size. Right out of the box, Toro communicates their lack of package contents integrity. Can the quality of the item itself be far behind? I doubt it. This is my second bad experience with a Toro product in three days. Yes, I'll get my money back; but what about my time and expense top do so? Home Depot doesn't consider that, do they?

The vacuum doesn't work very well. Tried to use this to pick up sawdust after cutting firewood with little success. Even with following the mfg instructions for tying off the extension cord and plugging it in it would constantly come unplugged.

Product is a bit clumsy to use as a vacuum. Blower is excellent. Vacuum is hard to assemble, use with the blower is awkward and counter intuitive in practice. Vacuum has good suction and does shred DRY leaves etc. Grateful for metal shredder as opposed to plastic. Sound of rocks and other hard material heard steadily.
Cord retention device works well if used carefully as directed. Blower is great - air volume excellent. 1st blower I have ever purchased and am pleased with it's operation.

It is a great buy for the right person.. I cannot effectively operate the equipment because it is too heavy. I am unable to change it from a blower to vacuum because I can't loosen the pieces.

I bought one of these a couple of years ago and all in all it has been a good buy. It could shred a little finer, but for the money it is ok. I would have given it 5 stars if not for being convinced that whoever designed this unit never used it. If they had, they would have gone straight back to the designing board and incorporated a means for securing the power cable. I know, I could tie a knot in the cable but I have never felt it was a good idea to tie knots in ext. cords. I did jury rig a means to secure the cable but it should not have been necessary.
