Answer:
The carburetor is located behind the air cleaner. If you are looking at the mower from the operator's perspective this will be directly to the left of the engine block.

How reliable is Home Depot and Toro in honoring their warranties?

I'm only curious. I've had bad luck with mowers in the past and decided to shell out some bucks and get me a Toro. My co-workers swear by Toro so that sealed the deal. The thing is, warranties can be a hassle, as with electronics for instance. Now in no way am I complaining about my Toro I just bought and mowed with this afternoon. The machine worked wonders compared to my previous mowers. I just want my machine to last years as opposed to months as some reviews have stated.

Answer:
To answer your question, the mower
Should last as long as you maintain it. Keeping clean fuel and out of. The elements. They offer an additional warranty at purchase. Key is to keep the receipt. Home Depot has always stood behind their products. On the mowers box is important info. Serial number, their is a location on front of book to write down info

I'm a Toro owner who has owned Toro mowers for years. I have owned this model for the past 3 years, and have had no problems with it needing warrantee service, so can't say whether the warrantee service is good or not because the Toro when properly taken care of doesn't need warrantee service. I think those who need warrantee service are those who don't read the instruction manual, and don't properly take care of their mower.
Now, I will say I have owned two other Toro's before this one, and ran each for many years, until they just wore out, far after the warrantee period. Each lasted 10 to 14 years. I think that is great, for a mower in this price range, and it will start every time and mow everything. Also, it will mow until the bag is completely filled, and then mulch the grass without bogging down. Others seem to fill the bag about 2/3rd's full then bog down requiring the bag to be emptied.
Make sure you winterize the mower at the end of the summer, by running out all the gas (See Instructions), spraying some WD40 in the spark plug hole, and then pulling the cord with the spark plug wire disconnected from the spark plug to mix the WD40 around coating the cylinder walls. If you do this, the mow will start right off the next year. If not, the small fuel lines will get partially plugged with the junk in the old standing gas and will need to be cleaned out, by you or a lawnmower store.
In conclusion, I read and followed the instructions of my three Toro mowers, and never had a break down requiring a warrantee service. If you have a good product, you don't need to worry about how good their warrantee service is. I hope this will stop you worrying, and you can go out and enjoying using it. Read Less

I am having a hard time starting my mower

We got this mower new yesterday and when we try to start it, gas flows out of the air filter and soaks the paper filter. In order to get the mower to start, we remove the filter and pull several times until the mower starts and then replace the filter to mow the grass. We have to repeat this each time we shut the mower off. Why is gas flowing out of the air filter?

Answer:
Hi,
Something is not right with your mower. My toro starts with the first pull. You do not even have to prime it. Return it to the store. Make sure you have your receipt, make sure you have written the info off the box, serial number, model. There is a place on cover of Manuel to write the info down.
Thanks
Kimbo
