Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bryoasis This mower works as advertised
We've used it twice and it started up on the first pull both times, right after we put fuel in and after a week of sitting idle. No more priming the engine. The wheel lowering and raising levers are big and easy to use. The best feature is the wide mouth opening for the fuel tank, no more spilling fuel because you can't see the level. The only negative is that the grass catcher does not seal completely. A small amount of grass blows threw the gaps. Overall this is a great mower. Very sleek looking with a strong engine.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Sendmetothemoon Very touchy fuel system/ carburetor. Constant starting and or surging issues.
Fourth season with the mower. Started having problems the second year. Had it to the shop twice this year. They cleaned carb and said it may need replaced. Still hard to start. Today I tapped the carb with a hammer and tilted the mower on it's side(gas side) , and it finally started. It surged/dieseled the whole time I was mowing. I had very cheap mowers last me a very long time with very little maintenance on my part. I'm going to run this steaming hunk until the next time it won't start , then buy a cheapie mower again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Derrick I'm Done With Toro Mowers
I have purchased 3 Toro mowers and they all have been garbage. The most recent and my final Toro had a "Guaranteed to Start" label proudly displayed. Then the sales person saw me looking at it and said "a solid 5 year investment". With "guaranteed to start" and "a solid 5 year investment", my decision was made! Took it home and it was very easy to assemble and I was very impressed and happy with it's performance and my purchase. Then 35 days after I purchased it and after using it only 4 times to cut my lawn, it would not start. I checked the mower for the most obvious reasons why it wouldn't start...gas, oil, and a spark plug (it had all 3). Any reason beyond that for a 30-day old mower failing to start is completely unacceptable for me. I took it back to Home Depot for a store credit and spent an extra $150 to buy a Honda mower. My experience with Toro is there is a 50% chance you will have performance problems. Keep that in mind if you decide to buy one.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jess not so easy start
When a product is advertised as "guaranteed to start" then it really should start! I bought my first house and I wanted to buy a new, reliable mower that will last. THIS IS NOT IT.... it had trouble starting 6 months after I bought it and now it's been almost a year and it is in the shop. I'm really hoping it's covered under warranty but I'm willing to bet that it's somehow fuel related and won't be covered. I've only used regular gas, and that should be just fine in this mower. The shop guy didn't make it sound very promising. If regular gasoline isn't good enough for this mower then Toro needs to come up with a better engine or advertise an awesome gas additive to use.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RrG Toro mower
This is my third Toro mower. I've tried other mowers but Toro seems to cut lawns better and has more power for weeds and lasts longer. I use the new mower on my lawns and when my weed mower dies I switch lawn mower to weeds and get new mower for lawn.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pete Carburetor is junk!!!!!!!!!
Had less then a year, will not start. Googled TORO Recycler and one of first things that came up on suggested searches was "TORO Recycler will not start". I'll cut to the chase and tell you carburetor is junk. Research for yourself (look for kohler XT6.5 engine problems). New carb only cost $25, but who wants to buy new carb every year.
