I have a lot of experience with different mowers and this is the best mower I have ever used! I think it puts all other mowers to shame! I have always loved doing the yard work but now I cant even call it work! Honestly you can walk behind this mower with one finger on it! This is what I noticed over other mowers... It is easy to start, easy to control because it manuvers so well around obsticles, self pulling feature is well thought out.- It doesnt rush ahead on you because the gear bar is so well designed, I have arthritis very badly in my hands and the mower is so comfortable I could mow all day. The gear bar design and handle is really the key element to this. The bagger system works great and easy to empty-It also makes wonderful mulch that I have now used in my gardens. The mower cleans up well too. Wash out system works like a charm. The heighth adjustment is easy to use and I loved that it can cut so low and even if I wanted it to. I have had nieghbors already complement on the yard since I bought the mower saying my lawn looks perfect like a golf course. One even thought I had a new gardener! That is what your new mower should do for you! Way to go TORO!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Keith Some Good-Mostly BAD !!
I bought the personal pace mower 3 years ago at Home Depot. Use it once a week for an hour a week. Mostly level yard. The drive at the rear wheel is totally JUNK. After struggling with the drive for the latter part of last season, this year, the gears on the rear wheels totally strip out. I purchased new rear wheels at an expense of $25.00 each. 2 hours later, wheel/gears stripped again. Paid $300 for the mower at the end of the season 3 years ago, it's not worth putting any more money in it. There are only 2 good things about this mower. 1) Starts easily. 2) Bags well with wet grass. Mulch feature is very poor. Going back to Snapper !! Prior to "getting old" I cut lawns for a living for years. I've been cutting grass for 39 years. This mower should not be purchased by anyone looking for a trouble free product.

The Toro Personal Pace Recycler mower is junk. I had to replace drive wheels within 2 months and again at the beginning of the next season. I am getting a Snapper, Honda or Lawnboy!

Mower worked great the first year and actually pulled me around the yard. Now the rear wheel drive grinds and I have to push it around the yard!
Shame on Toro for putting their name on such a mower! I bought this mower for the Toro name and am VERY disappointed in my investment.
Anyone giving this mower a good rating hasn't owned it very long!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by RAPSO Toro Model #20037 Personal Pace 22" Recycler
I purchased the Model #20037 in 2012 Oct (steel body) and have had to replace two (2) drive system transmissions over the past eight (8) months. My advice to all owners would be to report any observed abnormal noise and functioning of the drive system on the 20030s series of these mowers. TORO may refuse to apply warranty terms and conditions to your situation citing industry wide failure rates to justify possible operator/user error. Note as well that the gears in the transmission unit are plastic upon cast metal and probably manufactured in Mexico. I am seriously considering getting rid of the unit in preference for a brand of mower that utilizes a higher quality of materials in manufacturer and one better after sales service.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BigTTony Toro Recycler 22 inch Lawn Mower
The product is offered at a nice price, was packed properly, unpacking instructions were fine and the installation instructions were fine. The product starts right up and cuts the lawn very well.

The product does not perform as a Mulcher the term Recycler must mean that you can bag the cuttings and put them in a brown bag. It is a clumper at best. Also the do your own walking speed can give you the workout of your life if you have any bumps in your lawn. If your lawn is perfectly smooth it may roll nice. With any bumps the mower stops you and pulls you due to the sensitivity of the drive as you walk handle. I was starting to have trouble with my old mower so I gave my 22 year old Toro mulcher to my neighbor so he could have one at his cottage. I wish I had it back, it mulched beautifully without leaving clump trails. Yikes!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by VPinNoVa Not as happy as I had hoped
I purchased this mower looking for a new mower that would have more power and better mulching capability than my current mower. Unfortunately, it doesn't. It leaves clumps of grass and lines of clippings, even when the grass being cut is only one to two inches above cutting height. It does start easily, but I expected much better performance for the price of this mower.
