The product does not perform as a Mulcher the term Recycler must mean that you can bag the cuttings and put them in a brown bag. It is a clumper at best. Also the do your own walking speed can give you the workout of your life if you have any bumps in your lawn. If your lawn is perfectly smooth it may roll nice. With any bumps the mower stops you and pulls you due to the sensitivity of the drive as you walk handle. I was starting to have trouble with my old mower so I gave my 22 year old Toro mulcher to my neighbor so he could have one at his cottage. I wish I had it back, it mulched beautifully without leaving clump trails. Yikes!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by tmc1492 My impression changed
I finally had a chance to get out and use the mower. I may still tinker with the cutting height adjustment tab on the one wheel since it slipped a few times while mowing.
But after one use I already love this mower. Started on the very first pull every time I went to start it. I love the mulching function since I have a decent size back yard and it would take me forever to mow if I had to bag it. The self propelled speed it just right and is actually a good workout. No problems with turning it around corners or turns as was mentioned in other reviews. I'm glad I purchased this mower and would definitely recommend it!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by tmc1492 A few issues
I haven't used this mower yet, so hopefully my impression changes.
My first complaint is that they ship a bottle of engine oil with the mower. Well, when I started unpacking everything, I noticed that the bottle had been punctured and there was oil over everything. Ugh.
Secondly, one of the mowing height adjustment levers/tabs on the rear wheel was bent, meaning that currently it will not stay at the desired cutting height, unless I want to really scalp my lawn. I guess I will be removing that and attempting to hammer it flat so it works properly.
If I didn't live 3 and a half hours from the nearest HD I would return it. And I can't really ship it back since the oil leak pretty much destroyed the box.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by RAPSO Toro Model #20037 Personal Pace 22" Recycler
I purchased the Model #20037 in 2012 Oct (steel body) and have had to replace two (2) drive system transmissions over the past eight (8) months. My advice to all owners would be to report any observed abnormal noise and functioning of the drive system on the 20030s series of these mowers. TORO may refuse to apply warranty terms and conditions to your situation citing industry wide failure rates to justify possible operator/user error. Note as well that the gears in the transmission unit are plastic upon cast metal and probably manufactured in Mexico. I am seriously considering getting rid of the unit in preference for a brand of mower that utilizes a higher quality of materials in manufacturer and one better after sales service.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by bigmac good mower poor construction
This is the 2nd personal pace mower I have owned. The first axel stripped at the right wheel after replaced the key but that did not fix it. So after using it 2 years, junked it and bought another because of the features I did like. As soon as I bought it, had carb problems/would not start. Waited more than 2 weeks to get it repaired. Started leaking gas so returned to repair. Picked it up still leaking gas. This time fixed it after 3 days. Used it for 2 years then the transmission stripped. Love the mower, but evidently the drive train is a weak link. Bought a Honda.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bear Nice mower but build quality needs improvement.
I have had this mower a few weeks and this is my initial review. The mower arrived with several problems that show Toro has issues with build quality. First, I found that it was not completely assembled and I had to install the rear spring-loaded door myself. No big deal but annoying. Then I discovered that a couple of parts on the mower were broken. The parts that were damaged had to leave the factory that way - I don't see how they could have broken during shipment. I made a call and was able to get replacement parts sent to me at no charge. The personal pace system works ok but struggles a bit on small grades so probably not recommended if you have a yard with hills. Overall the mower performs well, has good features and is easy to use.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tommy2shoes Great mower but poor construction
This is my 3rd personal pace mower. I use them for about 8-10 years and then give them to one of my children and they continue to use.them. My original one is still being used. Very durable. They start very easily and cut well. Bagger could be bigger. I unpacked my new mower and cut about 20 minutes before the self-propelled unit quit. Upond inspection I found that serveral screws that attach the unit to the mower were either loose or gone. Apparently they were not properly tightened at the factory. Other than this issue, it is a great mower.

Purchase from a neighbor, who had it for 6 months. He needed to get a riding mower. REALLY impress with the
Toro Personal Pace so simple and yet enjoyable to operate with plenty of power. I now have had this for 5 years and love it. I don't bag, just mulch the grass. Have replaced the air filter once a year and the blade one time this year. Living in orlando, Fl. I mow 10 1/2 months a year with mowing about 1 hour each time. Sand is the biggest problem for the mower. I change the oil every 6 months, oil and grease the wheels every 3 months. Maybe wash it once a year, water is not good for a mower. Would like to see them put grease fittings on the front wheels, angle the handle down a little to make it more comfortable. Would like to see all lawn mower mfg. come up with a UNIVERSAL power rating for mowers.
