Customer Questions & Answers

Where do I locate this sprinkler head if I have a 4ft x 28ft area to cover?

Hello, what is the difference between side strip, end strip, and center strip and how to use them? Thank you.
Asked by: Novice1
I am attaching an illustration along with recommendation. End strip: To irrigate a rectangular area with an end strip nozzle, the nozzle location is in the center of one of the short sides of the rectangle. Side strip: The nozzle location is in the center of one of the long sides of the rectangle. Center strip: The nozzle is in the center of the rectangle – (at the intersection of the “X” if you were to draw straight lines between the corners of the rectangle. To cover a 4’ X 28’ strip of turf, I would use nozzle model #53873. You will need to slightly tighten the screw in the top-center of the nozzle to reduce the distance from 30’ down to 28’. - Toro nozzles are male-threaded and only work with Toro pop-ups - If you are installing/replacing a 4” pop-up, you will want to use Toro model #53821

I e\want to water a camelia bed 20' long and 4' drrp from the front--is shrub head what i want? How tall a base--2,3,4"

Asked by: froggy
Toro Model 52873 covers up to 4' X 20'. The distance can be reduced by turning the screw on the top of the nozzle clockwise. The integrity of the coverage/pattern will start to decrease if you reduce the coverage area by more than 25%. This nozzle can be used on any Toro 570 body or on a shrub head body. The height of your pop up or riser needs to be high enough to broadcast water over your plants, or at least over the root base of your plants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glad I can get these online still! I'm glad to be able to buy these online still! My local H.D. does not carry the Toro sprinklers anymore. Works good until the lawn guy hits one!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor coverage Doesn't come close to the stated coverage area. I realize that is under ideal circumstances, but the spray coverage is really poor.
