Answer:
14 Gauge maximum at 100 feet long. 12 Gauge maximum at 150 feet. Anything higher gauge cable and your power cord will catch on fire as it will not be able to support the 12Amps of current.

Answer:
Use only a polarized, UL listed (CSA certified in Canada) extension cord recommended for outdoor use. For up to 100 feet, use 14 ga. For over 100 feet, use 12ga. Answer:
Hi N, the recommended extension cord is 14 gauge. You should not exceed 100ft. I prefer to use a 12 gauge extension cord when I'm going a 100 feet. Hope this helps.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 54 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for price I've owned this about 4-5 weeks now. Best when you blow all leaves together first and then sucking them up. Blower has metal blade for mulching so much better than plastic ones where a small stick or mulch could destroy it. Only issue would be the clip seems weak. Bag works fine if you don't pull on it. The small gap is you pull it at all will make a mess. Shoulder bag is same may. If you angle it weird dust and leave parts can come out too. Just like an overfilled lawnmower bag. Becareful around mulch, it will vacuum it up too. Works very well though. November 9, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Things went wrong the first day I opened the box, read the directions, and started to use it. First, just the blower. While using it for the FIRST time, I noticed the blower speed was osculating a LOT. When I went to turn the dial off (down to 0) it didn't shut off. The only way to stop the blower is to unplug it WHILE your holding it! Then there's the collection bin...Read the directions, assembled everything, went to work. The white top blew right off. OK - put it back on, tighten strap as MUCH as I could, went back to work. Top blew off again! After 4 times of this, I finally got it to stay on. Then the hose blew out of the top! I give up! This item is a GREAT idea, but HORRIBLE execution. October 30, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Definitely worth the money! I purchased this to assist my family in cleaning leaves around the yard. I had intended to buy another product. However this TORO unit was highly rated and was less money. I have not been disappointed. It has the flexibility to mulch leaves into a small bag or into a larger container. We had to use a zip tie the hold the hose tightly into the canister and prevent it from dislodging. I was concerned that the unit would suck or ingest a stone and damage the mulcher. So far that has not happened. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking to help themselves clean up leaves around the house December 4, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A good value for the money. Bagger works ok but could be improved. The Ultra blower / vac is great. The bagging kit is a great idea that could be improved quite a bit, but does work. As others who reviewed this have noted, you pretty much need to use a long cable tie to attach the bag to the hose so that it does not pop off. The string mechanism to tighten the bag over the receptacle is okay. Some have used a bungee cord for additional reinforcement and I may do this the next time I use it because it did pop off several times. In my opinion, were this truly a kit designed to work together the bag material should be a hard plastic material to fit over top of the bin, or a different bin should be designed with a hard plastic lid that the hose from the vac kit would attach to. I would pay more for that because it would work better. Still, I don't regret the purchase and it's a heck of a lot easier than using the blower / vac's included small bag if you have alot of leaves to pick up. October 28, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Read this review!!!!! i will start out saying the blower works very well. Its strong and lightweight. Very easy to use. As for the bagging system....not so much. It does work but if you have a large yard and you are looking for something efficient this is not your solution. Go buy a yard sweeper or tractor with collection bags. Don't get me wrong the system works but its a slow process.......and i mean very slow. It took as much time to mulch them as it did to blow them in a pile. If you have a very small yard this solution is perfect. If you have anything over a 1/4 acre this is not your solution. November 13, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This clean up kit had great features on paper, but came up lacking. When using the vacuum function, it worked well with small to medium size leaves, but larger leaves would plug it up and require a stick to push them into the impellar, making extra work and time consuming. The metal impellar worked excellent, chopping up everything ! The 16:1 ratio made great mulch ! The hose to the trash can cover was too short and kept coming out, making a hugh mess ! The hose needs to be longer with a flange on the end to be more permanently attached to the cover to avoid this. I was unsure about using the variable speed dial instead of a trigger, but I ended up liking it because it could remain running while leaving both hands to operate the vacuum function. The blower function worked excellent ! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Good idea, poor execution The blower worked very well until the switch broke during its second use. The blower wouldn't turn on or would flutter on and off as I turned the dial. I am going to return it, but and still trying to decide if I just had a bad one and a replacement is the way to go, or if the design of the electrical system is just bad and I should move on to another product. The collection system is mediocre - the hose kept detaching from the blower. The cloth top that the hose sticks through in the collection bin would periodically blow off or the hose would detach. The reduction of the leaf volume was adequate. The concept is great, but the bulkiness of the blower + hose + limited range with the hose falls short of my expectations. October 30, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works better than reviews give credit for I use this to vacuum & shred leaves to reuse as mulch & compost material. It works fine as long as the leaves are dry and loose. I use the hose & canvas cover over a large 33 gallon garbage can with a plastic bag in it. That way I can store the shredded leaves in bags and keep them dry for later use. You can't pull on the hose or it will pop off. As long as you move the garbage can as often as needed, you shouldn't have trouble. I had no problem with the canvas cover blowing off - you've got to sinch the cord tight around the can. November 29, 2011
