Willl this replace the Toro TMC 2121-OD?
Asked by: needtilesquare
TMC 2121-OD is an outdoor timer. Current Lawn Master controllers are only available for indoor installation. However, if your TMC 2121-OD is installed indoors and you only need to water 4 zones, this Lawn Master can replace TMC 2121-OD.

I've had the Lawn Master II Landscape Timer for a number of years and it's worked flawlessly; however, my automatic program no longer shows a 4th zone. I can manually program the timer with the 4th zone, but the automatic timer does three zones, then goes back to the 1st zone, rather than ahead to the 4th. The 9V battery is new. Will call Toro tomorrow, but is there a way to troubleshoot this?
Asked by: jztherapist1
Lawn Master II offers 3 individual watering programs with up to 3 watering cycles (“start times”) per program. Each program can irrigate your choice of zones for the duration of your choosing and up to 3 times per program. It sounds like you are trying to program “start times” versus “run times” (a.k.a. watering duration per zone). You do not need to program a start time for each zone. You only need to program a “run time” for the zone. The system automatically starts all zones sequentially at the chosen “start time(s)” for the chosen duration.

It ran ok for a while, then it started getting stuck on zone #2, causing it to run for hours flooding my back yard. My water bill was horrible. Naturally, this occurred out of warranty.

I came outside this morning, 40 minutes after my sprinkler turned on, and found my sprinkler still running on zone 1. My system has 3 zones. Each zone was set to run for 10 minutes, consecutively. Had I not been home, I would have come home in the evening to find zone 1 still running. I switched the dial to 'off', but zone 1 would not shut off. I turned the dial to every setting, and zone 1 would still not shut off. I had to turn the sprinkler off at the spigot (water valve) outside. I then tried to manually select zones 2 and 3. Zone 1 is the only one being activated. I unplugged and reset the unit. Zone 1 is still the only one being activated. Here is another interesting thing. Zone 1 is turns on whether the dial is on 'off' or 'run'. I unplugged the unit, and I'll be replacing it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good product 10 Years at least this has run my water system flawlessly but it is finally becoming hard to program. I have the 4 zone model and after all these years outside I guess the contact points are too corroded. Buying a new one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great controller at the right price This works pretty slick. I had it installed in all of about 10 minutes. I would recommend breezing through the manual as with anything 'programmable' but it does exactly what it says it does and for $30 you can't beat it.
