I was really excited to get this mover as I have used similar ones in the past. When I opened it up and started assembling it, the handle and levers felt as if they had been cost reduced over previous models and now they feel a lot more fragile. Additionally the left rear drive wheel fell off the first time I used the mower. I used a 1/2" wrench to put everything back together and have mowed 3 times since without issues but I am always thinking about it now every time I take it out. Briggs engine is OK. I am used to Honda and feel that they restart better if for some reason you need to shut the engine down in the middle of your mow. In my case I needed to because I ran out of gas in the middle of my yard. The engine does not have a very big fuel tank in my opinion.
I do enjoy the blade stop as that was the feature I was looking for. The mower works fine but I am not sure I would be willing to buy again. I am sad about this as all my friends have Toro Mowers and I was looking forward to my own.

The mower worked great had good power and 3 months later the self pace stopped and it was tough to push the machine. This is my second toro and the drive was stronger on the new one until today.
When the machine was left on in the middle of my driveway by ups the plastic piece above the air filter was broken and 2 of the plastic pieces were broken and the blue shied on the blade stop was loose and later fell off.
I would still recommend the machine.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ekhoti Rethink the drive system
While most of the features on this mower were average, one thing makes it a poor choice: The Drive System! The rear drive shaft isn't covered, so longer grass and weeds tend to wrap around the shaft and bind up, causing the mower to slow, increased fuel consumption and general awkwardness of use. Mowing a half acre yard, we had to stop and clear the shaft every 4-5 passes. If not, the mower would slow to a self propelled crawl or have to be pushed altogether, and when bound up, is much harder to push than a non self propelled model. the chute for the bagger attachment has very tight clearance to the shaft, making clearing this bind ups problematic also. Other wise, it seems to be a decent mower, though a bit pricey considering similar mowers that don't have this issue.

The Belt and propeller broke in 2 months and the engine gave out in 5 months. Poor product for the amount it is being sold for. Had to take it to their maintenance repair shop 3 times have been charged every time. I feel like I paid double for it. Now it wont start and Toro says they dont cover the engine even though it even says on the lawn mower - Guaranteed to start engine warranty!!!!!!! It is ridiculous how little it lasted for the price being charged.

Not the best at mulching but gave decent results until the thing stopped running apparently due to an electrical problem. After only four years!

Well, l had it in box for about 2 weeks, until l decided to tackle it. I haven't tired it but my husband have twice. He seems to like it OK, He said he have to get use to how it operates and handles. He has to empty the bag more often.

I'm ALREADY disappointed in the lawn mower! It guarantee's to start every pull. I've used it twice and on Sunday, my third time It started right up. I realized I needed to adjust the blade, so I shut the mower off adjusted the blade and it wouldn't start!!! I waited roughly 15--20 minutes tried again No Start! Waited another hour, Still No Start. I put the mower away and tried again 6 hours later, NO START!!! What the heck??? I tried again yesterday before going to work, and it did start however, I didn't have time to mow before work!!! And. When I came home last night it was raining! So you can see where my frustration is. Any suggestions???

I love Toro mowers & my previous mower was also a Personal Pace Recycler.
This mower has the power, good traction even with my hilly backyard. It mows very nice & clean. I have no problem with that.
However, why only average rating? It is mainly due to the height adjustment levers. I'm sure that many, many who would try the height adjustment would likewise feel the difficulty. It's a far cry from previous designs. Here's what: 1) the adjustment levers do not easily dis-engage to clear the metal tongue. As soon as you try to pull it out more, the plastic handle would come off. Due to this effort, you also have to lift the mower at that side in order to be at least successful. I hope Toro would come out with a retrofit for the lever & I'm wiling to spend ~$50 more for its improvement. That star would shoot up to 5, no hesitation.
Otherwise, I love the mower, the blade stop is a must, recycles the grass pretty well, it climbs my hilly yard, it's not heavy.
