Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Love It My husband drives a snowplow during the winter so he isn't usually home when it snows. We finally had enough after we got hit with the last snow storm. We tried all the big box stores and everyone was out of stock of the smaller snow blowers. So we decided to order something on line for the first time. We ordered on Wednesday and we received it by 9 am Friday morning. It only took about 10 minutes to put together. Saturday we got hit with about 14 cm of snow and of course my husband was at work. I used it throughout the day. It started with the first pull every time. I could maneuver it with ease. It was great. I can't wait till it snows again. February 14, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Guaranteed to start on two pulls. Some times. This little snow thrower is amazing. With some medium pushing it chews through the heavy snow dumped by the city ploughs. Light to heavy snow falls on driveways and sidewalks are a breeze for this snow thrower. But "Guaranteed to start on two pulls". Maybe on one out of three uses it will it start on two pulls. It has always started on the third pull. February 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome! Don't underestimate this snow blower because of it's size! It is very affordable and does a great job of all areas including driveways, sidewalks, decks, etc. It's lightweight and self-propelled so no effort to fact, it almost drives itself! The best part is the rubber paddle that sweeps the snow at the surface level and leaves a clean, snow free path when done. At first my husband questioned the need to get the blower as he has been shovelling snow for years. However, I felt it was time for him to be able to handle the snow without a heart attack. We live in Southern Alberta and our winters are quite mild so the snowfalls aren't always large. We did not want to spend several hundred dollars for a large snow blower and then not have enough snow to have it work effectively. A super buy and we love it!! February 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great value for the price. I purchased this snowblower online after the crazy snow storm that london got in December, 2010. It arrived 2 days later (despite the weather) and was an invaluable tool to helping us dig out of the over 3 feet of snow. I only gave it 4 stars because I do wish it had a bit more power to blow the really heavy chunks. IT stalls quite a bit when you get it into any kind of heavy snow. You have to go very slow, but it's not that big of a deal when you consider the alternative is shovelling. Strongly recommend this product. December 17, 2010
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Carburetor problem and poor quality. Worked fine for the first winter. The second winter it leaks after filled up. Turned out it was a manufacture defect on the carb needle which caused by methanol. This machine is China made, the carburetor poorly manufactured, the gasket sealer/o-ring worse than rubber band. I know to service small engine, I might get some replacement to keep this blower running. This is the worse investment ever. Too late for refund. November 1, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Toro Power Clear 180 I have a 24 inch, 5HP snowblower but we often get a 1/2 inch to a couple inches of snow and I end up clearing it by hand. I wanted something that would do as good a job as a hand scraper for the light snowfalls and also to clean up after using the 5HP snowblower. It also had to be light enough to load in our van to transport to our daughter's place to clear her sidewalks. One use I hadn't thought of when I bought it was clearing the 1/2 inch or so of hard-packed snow off the sidewalks after clearing the roof and removing most of the snow with the large snowblower. It really does a great job of clearing even hard-packed sown right down to the sidewalk. We have about 2 inches of snow so far today and it is blowing quite hard, so the Toro will be getting a workout later tonight or tomorrow when the wind quiets down. Great little machine for light work. February 5, 2011
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by throws snow, hard to start I have used this machine for 3 winters, with mixed results. When I get it started (I mistakenly bought pull-start model) I use it to clear a large deck. Handles some pretty deep snow. Unfortunately it is unreliable to start. I have tried every combo the local dealer has advised with choke, primer, etc. Not sure if electric start would help or not. think I will trade in for an electric snowthrower instead and take the loss. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by excellent so far well, being a first time purchaser of a snowblower, it was very simple to put together. Nice & light weight that I could actually pick it up. Purchased it during a snow storm, it was ordered & delivered in 4 days! very nice...I'd like to tell you more but it hasn't snowed since it arrived! not sure if that's a good or bad thing. I'll have to give it a go during a storm. December 24, 2010
