I bought mine last year and don't recall much at all. I think it took less than a half hour. Installing the handle and chute. Here's a link to the owners manual. https://manuals.toro.com/97461/

I live in West Michigan where we receive a great deal of lake effect snow from Lake Michigan. I clear a large driveway (30' x 80') and move the snow to the side of the driveway. I also clear a large cement patio. The snow blower has started with one or two pulls and runs well. I have not had the need to use the electric start. This has started easily. This replaced a Toro I had from the 80's. The old machine was a two-cycle engine. The 4 cycle engine is a nice change. I was able to move wet, heavy snow as well as light powder snow. The snow easily reaches beyond the sides of the driveway from the center so I do not have to clear the same snow a second time.

Assembly was as easy as brewing a cup of coffee, the 518ZE cleared (8inch deep) snow right to the pavement and more importantly started right up at an air temp of -7 Fahrenheit ,didn't need to use the electric start either. Easily delivered the blown snow right where I wanted, and the units light weight made handling no problemo. The exterior of the 518ze was easily cleaned off after the job was completed.Brand new machine, and it gets the work done as expected, oh did I mention it was easy on gas too!

THe 2" seems to make a difference. Putting it togther was not as easy as some have said. The pictures are not so clear as they are taken from different angles . You do need a tool to tighten the locking nuts. We were thrilled when it started on the first pull. The instructions on how to use it were easy for my husband but not for me. It did do a great job and watching him use it once it was started ( don;t know about chokes). We paid arond $200 less for this one than our old one which was a nice surprise. It is very well built and cleaned our deck with around 8" of snow in a short time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toro 518z Exactly what i was looking for in a snowblower. The size was perfect and the power too. I previously had a smaller older model a 16 inch 2 cycle and it served me well for 10 years. This was a perfect upgrade for me i live in Staten Island NY. We get different amounts of snow each winter if you live in parts of the country that gets alot of snow the next model up would be better. Toro is a trusted name and my previous one ran perfect leading me to purchase another. Also runs on straight gas no mixing of oil.

Only complaint would be the location of the oil intake as it's at an awkward angle. The electric start is simple and worked without issue now a half dozen times to date. So far have only been dealing with snow at a max of 4" but it easily handles that load. Much cleaner over the stamped concrete as opposed to the aggregate in our driveway. Overall there's just a bit more snow left behind than I expected but this being my first/only I have no context to judge other than glancing at the neighbors. Anyway, for the price and my need I am very pleased to date.

Got the Blower just before our first big storm - about 12" came down in 24 hours or so. I have a standard size driveway and some sidewalk out front. I try to hit the snow while it's still about 4-5" deep and fresh. The Toro did fantastic! Even did well (but a little slower) when I decided to do the neighbor's driveway after the snow level was over the top of the intake area on the blower. There's no reason to buy a bigger, more expensive machine, unless you just want to. Or if your snow is typically wet and heavy - not sure how this would do then.
