Answer:
No need to mix gas and oil. It's a 4 cycle engine. Oil for the engine only and regular 87 octane gas for the fuel tank - do not mix.

Answer:
No metal blades, very durable rubber blades. Reason blades come in contact with the ground so rubber works well. In addition with the ground contact the machine will self-propell....great product

It is when the scraper and the rotor blades touch the ground that your machine will propel forward. The small wheels in the back do not propel your machine.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 202 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Initial experience Product delivered on or even a day or 2 before the estimate. Easy to put together. Used it only once so far, and not sure if because it is the first time to use it, but it took 2 or 3 attempts to get the engine to prime with gas and also it took 2-3 pulls to start with the recoil string. Other than that, it was easy to use and did a good job cleaning my driveway and sidewalks (concrete non-gravel surfaces). This is my first ever gas snow blower. Previously, I owned an electric snow blower and it was a pain to use having a be mindful of where the cable is and make sure not to have it get caught. It was the same brand (Toro). Both performed well but I like the convenience of a gas snow blower. February 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cute Lil Bugger I bought this for the sidewalk in front of my office building. It only snowed once after the purchase so my experience is very limited but... It assembled easily, started immediately, operated with little effort and stored in my utility room easily. March 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Another good toro product Received this machine yesterday - two days after the last big snow. However, there was enough snow in the piles I made to test it out. The machine comes in a box and requires some assembly work - nothing tough but the assembly manual could be written better. I was also surprised and a bit mad that the machine didn't come with an Owner's Manual. I had to call Toro and they sent me a link to the manual that I then printed out. (I asked that they mail me a manual since there should have been one in the box but Toro wouldn't do that for some reason.) The machine started right up and I look forward to never having to use it. I have owned two other Toros and they lasted until they wore out from the MI winters. Now that I live in KY, I suspect this might be the last snow blower I buy as we only get about two noteworthy snows a year. February 19, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Still Undecided I bought this snow blower in Winter 2015 to replace a 10-year old Craftsman that was destroyed in Hurricane Sandy. It worked like a charm. Now today, January 23, 2016, with the biggest snow of the season so far, it would not start. I have been trying to start it since two days ago. No luck, even though it was garage kept and covered all summer long. Very disappointing. I had to pay $50 to have my driveway and sidewalks cleaned. It looks beautiful but it's useless. I even tried to see if my old craftsman would work but luck. January 23, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy this product. First of all the machine does not start on first pull. It takes me three to five and than if you pull the handle too soon it will stall. It does not take the snow all the way to the ground but leaves about an eight to a quarter of an inch on the ground, Also it blows snow about a foot. Than I tried to returned it, I called customer service, they laugh and when I took it to the store they said they won't return it. They said they can fix it for a fee. Never worked right from first day. February 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great, even on deeper snow Minimal assembly required, started right up, and has plenty of power... I couldn't be happier with my snowblower. March 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by snow blower it was bought as a gift so I do not know much about it. but my brother said he is happy with it. February 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value! Simple to start, perfect size, easy maneuverability, throws snow far! February 29, 2016
