Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Toro Power Clear, non electric start... I grew up in the Snow belt of northwest Pennsylvania, with heavy winter snows. I have used many snow blowers. I purchased this Toro Power Clear 621 R from the Consumer ratings from Home Depot. I could have purchased a cheaper blower and now I am glad I did not. My one neighbor had a cheaper version of the one that I was going to purchase. I watched him blow out his driveway. That cheaper single stage blower definitely did not blow/throw the snow as far as the Toro did. My next-door neighbor has a two-stage blower and it also did not blow/throw the snow as far as the Toro did. He also said that he liked it that my Toro was much more maneuverable than his two stage was and much faster at blowing out the driveway. Now we just got 6” to 8” of fresh snow… and the snow was now wet and heavy when used. My older single stage was 13 years old. Now, I take care of my stuff. I gave it to my son, who lives in a milder climate. You can also see the ear plugs on the handle hanging that I used... hearing protection. I like the 4 cycle too for gas and go and the non-electric start because it always starts quickly with one pull or so. I drain the gas in the springtime and use gas additive to preserve and clean the gas systems. The Toro Really did IMPRESS me… The Toro is Great and easy to use… a true back saver… for any snowfall, even the HEAVY snow at the end of the driveway as seen in the photo. The Toro was shipped right to my door. Easy online ordering. A great Toro snow-blower. December 14, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Entry level at best I bought this unit 2 seasons ago, used it maybe 30 times max and it vibrates way more than I anticipated. So much so that it sheared off one of the bolts holding on the handle. As a result I brought in for warranty and had it fixed. Still vibrates a ton and the body panels are loose and make noise too now. It starts every time, which is nice, but quality-wise you may want to go with another model if you're expecting a high-end unit. November 18, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Machine! Purchased in 2012 with no problems to date. Starts up nicely and can handle some DEEP snow if you simply move back and forth. Despite it not being self propelled, the snow blower does pull itself forward as if it were self propelled! The Power Clear tosses ANY kind of snow very well. Straight gas with no oil mixture if really nice. My only complaint is that the engine doesn't run smoothly when the choke is off. I have to run it on partial choke for it to run smoothly. All in all it's great for what is is. I have a plowed 240' driveway so I use this primarily my walkways and cleanup. November 28, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Power Clear 621R 21" Single Stage 4 Stroke Single Stage The Toro 621R is a single stage snowblower which means the paddles that pick up the snow from the pavement propel the snow out the chute as opposed to a two stage which has paddles or blades that pick up the snow and then up to another set of paddles or blades that throw the snow out the chute. I like the single stage because it is lighter and more maneuverable and generally cheaper than a two stage in my opinion. The 621R was easy to assemble, starts easily enough to not even think about using the electric start feature. By the way in order to use the electric start the snowblower has to be plugged into an 120v outlet however there is no cord included with the 621R. The snowblower moves snow and saves my back however it can't cope with wet heavy snow. The chute will clog and the snowblower has to be shut down and the chute cleared. It clears down to the pavement surface but will throw snow backwards from underneath. It throws snow 20 feet depending on the wetness of the snow but nothing near 30 feet listed in the advertising. After reading the reviews where owners have had serious starting issues after storage I decided to start and run the 621R every month and run it dry year round. I also use additives such as Stabil and Techron in the gas. So far this has worked for me and this is my third season and last winter was particularly brutal with heavy snows and terrible temps. Hope this helps. January 5, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Good snow blower only when it starts It did not start on my second winter. After the first winter I prepared snow blower for storage according user manual instructions and next winter it did not start with a fresh gas. Toro's dealers will find a thousandth reason to say it's not covered by warranty so you will have to pay. Before you consider to buy Toro do not count on their 2 years to start warranty as I did. You will be lucky if it works otherwise prepare to pay big $$$ to fix it. Toro will not stand for it's warranty. Such a pain.., waste of money.. November 30, 2012
