I was skeptical that a single-stage snow blower could do the job in Maine. However, all the reviews were outstanding so I bought this Toro. Our first snow was about 4 inches and the Toro blew through that. It tosses the snow quite far enough. It is easy to change the chute direction using the lever. Definitely get this upgrade. Based on the reviews I opted for the recoil start rather than the electric start. The Toro started on the first pull. I do not think the electric start is necessary. Unlike a two-stage blower, this machine cleans right down to the pavement, which is great. We have a pretty steep driveway but the Toro powered right up it. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by luna Great machine runs clean no gas and oil mixture that is a big plus.
I really like this machine. No oil and gas mixture runs very clean no smoke a big plus. Cleans the snow very well and makes snow removal fun. Only buy the four stroke engine it makes s world of difference.

Very easy to assemble, lightweight compared to two stage snowblowers, easy to start and operate and does not take much space in the garage. Goes through snow like a hot knife through butter.

Bought this unit back in November, with the idea of using it for normal snowfalls; 3-10 inches. With the abnormally milder temps we had through December (southeastern PA) haven't had a chance to use it. Until today. Blizzard of 2016. 22 inches. I went out earlier during the storm to get a jump on removing some of the snow to avoid having a full load tomorrow.
Well, at the time, the snow varied from 12" to over 20", due to drifting. Although the height of the snow was over the front of the Toro, it still cut through easily to move my entire driveway and sidewalk in approx. 40 minutes. This is the real deal. Everything that others and product reviews have said about it. My neighbor was struggling with his 2 stage snow blower.
After using a cumbersome 2 stage unit for the past 8 years, The Toro is especially easy to use due to it's quick handling, and love having the quick levels for the chute and turret. Started up on the 1st pull. It gets down to the surface and is very powerful. The Toro outperformed the 2 stage unit.
If you're considering getting a snow thrower, take a real good look at the Toro Power Clear. It costs a bit more than some of the others, but, it's worth it.

I am giving this a 3 star rating just because I've never had issues with my Toro 2 stage snowblowers otherwise it would be lower. I wanted a snowblower that cleared down to the pavement so I don't have to shovel what the 2 stage snowblower leaves behind. I decided to purchase this snowblower after my neighbor got one and it cleared his driveway perfect. First time I got to use this snowblower it was shooting more snow under the snowblower at my feet than out of the chute. I took it to my local dealer and they said there was nothing wrong and they don't clear snow down to the pavement. Very disappointed in this snowblower.

I need one fast and the chute adjustment on the handle was way better then my old machine which I had to keep bending down to move it. I am very happy this worked well
