I bought it for Grandma's house and just used it tonight. Started on second pull and it threw very wet 4-6" of snow like butter. Cleaned around the driveway apron where the city plow left a mess .... threw that snow so far it almost knocked out the pole lights. I am a mechanical engineer with 30 years experience and owned and repair 'tons' of snow blowers. This snow blower is incredible; the paddle effect pulls the blower up slopes and into any deep snow. I actually did the driveway in record time and wasn't sweating or even breathing hard. And no smelly clothes like those 2-cycle blowers give you.

I bought this Toro snow blower the day before our 1st big snowfall of this year. After assembly (very easy) adding the supplied oil, and my gas, it started right-a-way. About 12 feet into clearing my 30 foot driveway, the right wheel came off. (attaching wheels were not part of the assembly). The wheel hub (which holds the wheel on the axle), was missing. I contacted Home Depot, but since I added oil and gas the the blower and don't carry parts, they suggested calling a authorized dealer. They aren't open on weekends. Called Toro (same problem). With the use of my vise-grips (purchased several years prior from Home Depot), I was able to keep my wheel in place long enough to clear my driveway. I was able to reach Toro customer service on Monday. After I explained the problem, they sent the missing part, promised to investigate this ( I wasn't the first), and we all lived happily-ever-after.

The assembly was easy other than the chute required a little guesswork as the directions aren't entirely clear though it's basically common sense. I used it for the 1st time on about 6" of relatively light snow. It threw the snow roughly 10' I'd guess and cleared to the pavement well. The chute is easy to move around. The pull start works well too. I'll be curious to see how it handles some heavy, wet snow this winter but so far so good. My driveway is pretty average size for a house in the middle of a neighborhood (maybe 40'x40' and this blower made it a whole lot easier to clear and only took about 20 min the 1st time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect for a 1-stage Bought this for my 6-car driveway in the hills of northern Worcester County, Massachusetts. Quickly learned that when they forecast 6-10 inches, we get 11". Still, no regrets with this machine. Saved a lot of money over a two-stage. Big storms take 2 passes, and the snow banks caused by stret plows take about four passes... no big deal. Plowing the grassy hill to the woodpile would be easier with a 2-stage, but this works fine with a bit of extra pushing. Nana would do better with a 2-stage, but if you're of average fitness this 1-stage is a perfect little blower.

This is the 3rd single-stage Toro gas snow blower I have owned and the 2nd of this size. they all blow snow VERY WELL and today was the first snow fall since I got this machine (3-5 inches of wet snow). It blows this snow 10-20 feet as fast as I can walk and some times run. It clears down to the asphalt driveway pavement. I am very pleased with this machine! It will not clear the full width of the machine if the road snow plow goes by and leaves more than 10 - 12 inches of heavy snow. This is a great machine. I got this one two weeks ago.

The initial setup only took about 20 minutes and it started on the first pull. It never bogged down when clearing 6 inches of wet snow and that includes the snow that the snow plow leaves at the end of the drive way. It truly throws the snow 35 feet. Changing the direction of the discharge shoot was quick and easy. Toro has other models where the direction of the shoot is controlled on the handle and it would be fun to see if it is easier to operate than this model. Toro also has an electric start model but I was not interested in that model because I knew from experience how easy it would be to start this Toro snow blower. This is my 4th Toro snow blower. All of them start on the first or second pull and all of them were quite powerful and maneuverable. I recommend this product.
