PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Model # 37770

Finally an easy to use two-stage Snow blower. The Power Max 724 OE Two-Stage Snow blower has many features to make your snow clearing job easy and yet is built tough to give you years of dependable performance. A breakthrough in snow blowing technology, the Power Max Anti-Clogging System (ACS) reroutes excess snow to prevent clogging and maximizes impeller speed and velocity. The Quick Lever control allows you to quickly and easily change chute direction and the locking style Zip deflector quickly and securely changes the angle of the thrown snow. The 205 cc Briggs & Stratton engine is tough and durable for years of dependable use. It comes standard with electric start. The material of the auger gearbox gears are what matter not the material of the gearbox housing. The special hardened gearbox gears are designed to withstand the highest of stresses and resist wear unlike softer competitive gears. The Power Max is also built with a unique one-piece frame for maximum strength. All others use a two-piece frame that has a weaker bolted joint right in the middle of the machine. The interlock system allows one-handed operation freeing the other hand to change speeds or the chute control without stopping. It has a 3 year limited warranty on the machine and engine. The chute, deflector, and ACS are guaranteed for life. Some assembly is required by the customer.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 127 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Hard to install and over priced Very hard and unclear installation instructions. The nuts and bolt on the auguer/impeller cable to the lever is so weak that it broke during the installation. According to the manual, the length of this cable can be adjusted but this is absolutely wrong. The length of the impeller/auger lever cable CAN NOT be adjusted. Its very short to begin with to be attached to right side auger/impeller lever. I am returning this product and getting a full refund. December 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Setup was easy! Setup was very easy! Assembled it, filled the tank, plugged it in, and hit start. Fired up first time! Our driveway has been shrinking with all the snow we have been getting. Toro chewed it up and we have our full width back again! February 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This snow blower seems easy to use and has great power. easy to assemble. good directions. easy to start and operate. with good power. November 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This thing goes through anything! Great snowblower! I got it in the aftermath of a winter where we recieved over 100 inches of snow and my tired single stage snowblower was just not keeping up. This one took on the big snow piles and moved it with ease. It throws the snow a long ways too - I've got to be careful that I don't blow it from my driveway to my neighbors! February 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Relatively easy to use. Excellent controls/ features. We had two instances to use this in the 1- month we had it. The first time was a 3 or 4 inch slushy snow, and it performed better than I expected. It cleared the mess very well. The second time was after the "Blizzard of 2013" , that left about 35" of snow (not counting the 4 to 5 foot drifts). The machine was not designed to cut snow that deep, but with several passes, and knocking the drifts down with a shovel, the Toro snowblower operated flawlessly. It was easy to control and handled almost 4 hours of continuous operation with little to no strain on the engine. Extremely pleased with the design (no clogging), and the controls. February 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Good Solid Machine. This Toro has all the features I need for fighting New England Winters. We had it shipped to our house, and it came well boxed, and setup was easy; no more than 20 to 30 minutes. It shipped with oil in it, so we added fresh gas, and it started right up running nice and smooth. We shut it down and awaited the coming storm and 2 days later, we got 14 " of snow, as well as a 2 to 2 1/2 foot wall of packed snow left in the mouth of our driveway by the city plows. The Toro self propelled itself through all of it without a hiccup. We took small chunks from the snow wall at first, but once started made short work of that too. I can honestly say I'm not worried about whatever snow comes our way with this beast sitting next to our house. January 14, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It works, but I don't like it. I purchased this snow blower this summer and used it for the first time today. I am somewhat disappointed in the quality and operation of this unit. The worst thing is that the engine shuts off whenever I go over a bump - even a small one! The ridge from cleaning my car off before moving it is an example. I can restart the engine by priming it first. My guess is that the carburetor is sensitive to bumps and injects air into the line, or just cuts off the gas when it gets jostled. The blower has shear pins that can be put through the axle and the wheel, or just through the wheel depending on whether you want self propulsion or free wheeling mode. The blower came with one wheel configured for free wheeling. (Why would anyone buy this blower and not use self propulsion???) The shear pin has a ring on it - spring loaded such that you can't insert the pin through the wheel and the axle without pinching your finger pretty hard!! There is no engine speed control up near the handles. I like to be able to adjust the speed based on the snow depth, weight, etc. It's a bunch of little design issues like this that turn me off when it comes to this machine. I should have spent the money and bought the Honda. Some of my dislikes will disappear once I get used to it: The plastic chute sounds like you're running over gravel when you hit anything - like road salt. The tines keep going as long as you keep your hand on the clutch for the wheels - I'm used to the opposite arrangement. It does seem to have enough power and throws the snow well when it is running. I guess I'm just a tool snob! I like a tool that impresses you at every turn, not one that disappoints you in little ways every time you use it. January 6, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Performance exceeded expectations! I researched every make and model and compared them side-by-side. For the price, it was the best purchase. Two factors that sold me were the Briggs & Stratton engine and the gear box. There are no shear pins, which means I do not have to worry when I am in the middle of a snow drift and the blower is near max capacity. In my opinion, energy and moral are significantly reduced when those break (its a safely feature) and I have to stop and replace them. It is a work horse and routine maintenance is straight forward. In my opinion, you shouldn't need heated handles if proper gloves are worn. However, if you need a spotlight then shop the larger Toro models that do, because it is a great line of machines.
