Finally an easy to use two-stage snow blower. The Power Max 726 OE Two-Stage snow blower has many features to make your snow clearing job easy and yet is built tough to give you years of dependable performance. A breakthrough in snow blowing technology, the Power Max Anti-Clogging System (ACS) reroutes excess snow to prevent clogging and maximizes impeller speed and velocity. The Quick Stick control allows you to quickly and easily change chute direction and chute angle with one simple, integrated control. The 205 cc Briggs and Stratton engine is tough and durable for years of dependable use. It comes standard with electric start. The material of the auger gearbox gears are what matter, not the material of the gearbox housing. The special hardened gearbox gears are designed to withstand the highest of stresses and resist wear unlike softer competitive gears. The Power Max is also built with a unique one-piece frame for maximum strength. All others use a two-piece frame that has a weaker bolted joint right in the middle of the machine. The interlock system allows one-handed operation freeing the other hand to change speeds or the chute control without stopping. It has a 3 year limited warranty on the machine and engine and the chute, deflector, and ACS are guaranteed for life. Some assembly is required by the customer.

It does not come with an extension cord. You will need to use a UL-listed, 16-gauge extension cord recommended for outdoor use that is not longer than 50 feet (15 m).

Although our definitions of "steep" may vary, I'd call my driveway steep and my Toro powers up the incline without a problem.

When you stop on my very steep driveway and it is not in gear it will roll unless you turn it sideways. My Old sears did not do that.
Yes I bought this because it was recommended for steep driveways and it is powered adequately to go up my driveway and throw snow.
The rolling when I'm stopped is aggravating though.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 78 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Plastic snow shoot broke in the first season After reading many good reviews for the Toro Power Max 726, I expected it would be well made and very durable. I was disappointed after my 3rd use. I purchased this snow blower in January 2013. I used it about 3 times before the snow discharge shoot broke. I was more than a little disappointed since I had questioned how long a plastic discharge shoot would last. However, it had a sticker on it that said, "Guaranteed Forever". The discharge shoot broke directly behind the "Guaranteed Forever" sticker. See attached snap shot for reference. December 6, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Never starts in the Fall I bought this Snowblower because I was tiered of fixing my old one every year. Even though I use stable in the gas and shut th fuel valve off and let it run out of gas after every use this piece of junk still will not start each Fall. I have had this 4 years now and every Fall I have to either rebuild the carb or this year figure out why no spark. Stay far away from a Brigs and Stratton motor if you want reliability. So sad to say that as I live in Milwaukee ;-( November 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Eats snow like a champ Worked as advertised right out of the box!Chopped up snowdrifts from previous storms and ate fresh snow like a knife through butter.Did my 25 by 100 foot driveway in twenty minutes compared to three hours with my 21" single stage. The joystick feature is awesome!Highly recommended .I'll be ready for the next storm, hopefully NEXT winter. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Why didn't I buy it earlier? First time you use it, you will ask yourself this question. I privately sold my old Craftsman so I could buy this horse last weekend. Got 8 inches of heavy, wet snow in Pennsylvania after the Super Bowl. I cut right through it all. The joy stick is worth the extra $100 over the 724. My neighbors with snowblowers were waving me over to take of their 80 x 20 driveways because theirs kept getting clogged from the snow. The anti-clog is the main reason I bought Toro over Ariens. I've only had it a week so I can't comment on durability, but it is much better made than other snowblowers I've owned. I can't see anyone being disappointed in purchasing this monster! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Snow Blower Starts on first pull and really tosses the snow. Self propel feature works well. It can climb up my steep 200 foot driveway. It throws snow out about 30 ft. but can still get bogged down in really wet snow. February 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for winter blizzards I have a long driveway. This snow blower is so easy to use. It has both manual and electric start for cold conditions and in case you are out of power. with 26" wide it takes just 4 to 5 run to clear the whole driveway. The best part is it's so easy to set it up and get going with a easy start up. Not to forget the design of the rotor makes it uncloggable. With my complete run I never had to stop because of clogging. And one hidden but very import feature of this blower is the rotors does not have pin due to which in case the blower hit a hard item the engine stops instead of the pin breaking, coz you dont want to be fixing the pin in the middle if snow cleaning in chilly winter. December 16, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by AFTER TWICE OF USE LAST YEAR, THIS WINTER I HAVE TO CALL SERVICE TO FIX... I BOUGHT THIS 726 LAST YEAR. I USED TWICE. I DRAINED THE GAS, AND STORE OVER SUMMER.FIRST TIME TO USE FOR THE WINTER THIS YEAR. THE ENGINE CANNOT START, BOTH MANUAL AND ELECTRIC... SAD. I SPENT $100 FOR THE SERVICE TO FIX. FAILURE ON CARBURETOR... :-( December 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great performer Just picked one of these up yesterday and used it on the 10" of snow we received the night before. Does a very good job of surface cleaning and was easy to maneuver around. This blower really can really throw the snow too! Adjusting the chute takes a bit to figure out but the control works really well and is a great feature. Chomped through the muck at the end of the driveway with ease and with a little work, this machine also ate through all the compacted snow on the driveway where we'd driven over some previous snowfalls. Love it and am kicking myself for not buying one sooner! February 2, 2014
