No on-board battery to worry about. Just use an extension cord and plug it into regular household current!

Answer:
No battery. Need the cord or use the pull start. Both work well - but it's brand new so why wouldn't it start easily.

Answer:
To use the electric starter, connect a power cord to the electric starter plug-in first and then to a power outlet. Use only a UL-listed, 16-gauge extension cord recommended for outdoor use that is not longer than 50 feet (15 m). It took me about an hour, but I was slow and had never seen one assembled, never owned one, and had no familiarity with the process. Nevertheless, assembly is really quite straightforward.

Answer:
Double check my info, if I recall correctly, it is one or more of the following: bigger fatter tires, headlight and/or more CC's {horsepower} the 826 OTE is rated at 11.5 horsepower. Get the highest horsepower you can afford. I have to throw heavy/slushy snow at times and am grateful for the extra power.

Answer:
Both the OE and OTE models have an overhead valve engine and electric start. The difference between OE and OTE is the extra wide traction tires. The Power Max 826 OTE is equipped with a headlight as well.

Power Max 826 OTE 26 in. Two-Stage Electric Start Gas Snow Blower is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 127.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get better than you think. I was amazed at how easily it throws wet snow and slush. Never plugged up once. Headlight is bright at night and there is plenty of power. Knobby tires give great traction. The big gas tank keeps you going for hours. One pull is all you ever need to start it, even in 0 degree weather. Electric start backup is nice, too. For what you pay and what you get, it's an excellent bargain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A product not to be taking lightly. I've been doing some research on snowblowers. And I was looking for a snowblower that wouldn't break the bank but still be able to take on the toughest conditions. Where I live the snow fall could be up to 5ft in the winter months. I purchased my toro snowblower in the off season but looking forward to the winter season to put it to the test.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't throw snow very far The store said this Toro would throw snow 20 or 30 feet, which I need. In light dry snow it throws only about 8-10 feet. In deeper wetter snow (about 12 inches deep) it throws about 6-8 feet. And the "ANTI CLOG" chute clogs. Power? Not much. It bogs down in heavy, wetter snow & snow spills out the sides & have to go back over it. Where the plow goes by at end of the drive, the machine bogs down, shakes & will stall if I don't take it inch by painful inch. It's also not an easy machine to walk behind & maneuver. Definitely not the powerful, snow throwing machine I was looking to own. Disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than anticipated What a beast. I waited too long to begin the snow clearing process and there was already 22" on the ground and still snowing heavily. First time to use this machine, and it never faltered with 2' of snow. Drifts up to 3' weren't much of an issue either. Toro forgot to tell the unit that it was only rated for up to 12". It has plenty of power to plow through 3' of snow. The joystick is easy to control the chute and the powered wheels help it from becoming too much work. What a great upgrade from an older, non-Toro, 1- stage machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than anticipated Just bought it and we get hit with huge snowstorm. Rated for up to 12", but I overslept and the snow was 22" when I got outside to try the new 826 OTE. Incredible - 1 pull start (It does have electric start, too) and it was off and throwing snow with abandon. Toro forgot to tell this machine that it was only rated for up to 12". Snow still coming down and after a neighbor's driveway, I was going through snow 3' deep. Slow, yes. But it doesn't get clogged. I'm amazed by this machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Toro 826 Snowthrower This is generally a brute of a snowblower for 7" or less of dry or wet snow. More than that becomes a struggle, as chute will tend to plug up despite the "no plug" claim. Also, tends to be a little heavier and more cumbersome than I like, and rear tires are too small. Why Toro doesn't install larger tires of these models is beyond perplexing to me. #???#

Rated 5 out of 5 by from like the joy stick I had another brand of snowblower and had previously had a Toro. When I saw this model as a special buy in a local store, I sold my other one and bought this one. No other models can compare to the joy stick that is on your models. Also I had never had any problems with the previous Toro I had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Regrets Replaced my 27 year old 22” Honda Snow thrower with the 26” Toro Power Max 826 OTE. My first use was the 2015 Blizzard in the north east. I can’t say enough about this Toro, it’s an animal! It handle 2 feet of snow with ease. I did have to knock down some higher drifts with a shovel, but for the most part this machine performed great. All the controls worked great and It was also great on gas.
