I purchased my new Toro 826 yesterday and after going through the manual I filled it with gas and topped off the oil. My driveway is 200 feet long and quite wide, the 826 amazed me with the distance it threw the snow which was about a foot and a half deep! This machine powered through the snow for fun and is a breeze to use. It's very well balanced and makes short work of snow clearing! I wish I had it sooner in the year but they apparently sell pretty quick around here. I chose this snow thrower over four other types on display for the reliability that the Briggs & Stratton provides and the solid construction of the machine itself.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by greatwhitenorth Runs very well, however...
The snowblower works very well. It blows the snow a considerable distance. The engine seems to have plenty of power. Ice chunks that have fallen off of the wheel wells of cars are not a problem for the machine. I'm pleased with the purchase.
However, there have been a few minor glitches. Upon purchasing the snowblower, it was instructed that the primer should rarely, if ever, be needed. Even when using the electric start, it has not started well on a few occasions. It has required priming. Once, I overprimed it and it flooded.
Also, if you shut off the engine without idling down the engine for a while, it will backfire every time.

I ordered this snow blower online after reading the positive reviews. I already have a one stage Toro snow blower that is 30 years old and still works fine but wanted a two stage to handle those big storms we seem to get more often. I am very pleased so far even though I've used it just once for a 4" snowfall. It starts easily and handles well. I'm very impressed in the distance the snow is thrown by the discharge chute and the versatility of the quick stick that maneuvers the direction of the discharge chute to any direction desired. It seems very well built and I expect it to last another 30 years as well.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BigJohnSmallEngine Toro still delivers what others don't
After the early snow in November of 2014, I decided to get a decent snowblower after dealing with a plow on my ATV in heavy snow. Thankfully, it didn't snow much more after that, but the few times it did, this machine was a beast! I had done a lot of research before getting this, and feature for feature and quality of construction, Toro was an easy decision for the money. It was pretty easy to put together myself. The engine runs like a champ, and I like the fact that there is a fuel shut off and a throttle control. If you use it on concrete or asphalt driveways, and you are particular about getting it "edge to edge and black", get a set of plastic roller skids-they won't scar the surface and travel better. I don't think Toro offers them, but they should. You can get aftermarket ones, just be sure to measure.

This is a replacement snow thrower and I replaced a different brand. Not going to name names, but another top brand. This Toro is great! Very easy to start with the pull start, easy to use controls, ergonomic, flat out great machine. I have never cleared my driveway faster or with less effort. The remote control for the snow chute works great and is so easy to use compared to a hand crank. 6 speeds forward and two reverse. They are geared perfect, higher gears are not too fast and the lower gears power through. Ease of turning is another bonus. Very easy to steer and control. I can't say enough. I wish I would have bought this snow thrower last year!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lou57 Easy to maneuver and good throwing distance
We unboxed this snowblower right before another snow storm. We already had 6 foot snow drifts around the house and our old snowblower (which broke) couldn't throw above the drifts. Assembling it was fairly simple, but the spring on the rotating blades wasn't installed correctly. Once we figured that out and adjusted it, we were very pleased with this purchase. We had a repairman out to service our old snowblower and he recommended a Toro with a Brigs and Stratton engine, once it was determined that the old one wasn't worth fixing... and this repairman works for a competitor!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JCGeorgetown Very good product
Used this snowblower 3 days after it was received for the 17 inch heavy snow in Central Kentucky. It worked as advertised, however it threw snow about 15-20 feet instead of the 40 feet advertised. Two screws mysteriously disappeared during use from the top of the engine housing. The dealer advised everything involving the engine was handled by Briggs & Stratton. They did give me 2 new screws/bolts, which I insured were installed tightly. Blower handled 17 inches of very heavy, wet snow with relative ease. Very happy with this product.

I got this late in our winter but still got some heavy use out it. It if fast and powerful. I am a 47 year old woman and have no trouble maneuvering this snow blower. It is so much more powerful than my previous one. I cannot comment on dependability since I have only powered it up 10 times (so far so good). I was a little nervous about getting a Toro not much good press out there and this was the only manufacturer that still had availability. I am very pleasantly surprised and would HIGHLY recommend.
