We received 12 in. of wet snow man building snow. By the end of the day 5 hrs. latter I was much more comfortable with the use of this Toro. These were taken first thing in the morning. I was fighting the 1128 at first after a few hrs. it was not so bad. Did both of my neighbours drive ways. There are 5 or 6 other blowers on my block but I was the only one that could blow the wet heavy stuff. My Toro did NOT plug up once which I did not expect I was able to blow snow 25 to 35 ft. The 10 hp across the street was good for 6 or 7 feet and plugged up after a few minutes so I did his yard also.
I am very happy with my new Toro, would not go back to what I had, one gets what you pay for. This was a great purchase, can not wait to get some powder snow. My self I will need a few more hrs. at the controls before I can give a full blown review. Only 5 hrs of use so far. But the heaver the snow the better it blows. When the snow comes off the house roof this Toro shines better than I expected.

The blower has been tested by a hard winter with heavy wet snow and light dry snow sometimes with slush or ice mixed in. It has performed well. The throw is excellent in all conditions, the blower cleared wet packed snow banks left by street plows, and the turning is so much easier. It is much more resistant to clogging. However, I do miss the ability of the old blower to shift the wheels back to put more weight forward to hold the blade to the ground. This model, lacking the feature, tends to rear up in the higher speeds or when encountering packed snow and requires a lot of arm strength to control at times. It also has a tendency to slew left or right when it encounters uneven conditions. I have also encountered a minor problem, but it might be a harbinger of more problems in a couple of years. Three bolts holding the sheet medal sides have sheared off. This implies a quality control problem, either of over-torquing during assembly, or more likely, of poor quality steel.

Power to spare. This winter in New England has been snow filled at historic levels. This machine does a great job, and takes some of the drudgery out of clearing a snow filled driveway.
It's even better a clearing out the snow the city plows push into a freshly cleared driveway.

This is my 2nd purchase of a Toro snowblower. I upgraded to a bigger model with more desirable features. The two biggest that were a must were the electric starter and the heated handles. Although I haven't had the opportunity to use the Power Max HD 1128 OHXE, I am looking forward to the experience. Bring on the snow.

We used this two years without any problems, handles any snowstorm with ease. Love the easy turn leavers, so easy my wife can use it without any effort. Steer and go!

Had to give it 4 stars because I just got it and it won't snow for another month or two. What I really like is the levers at each handle grip that takes the wheels out of gear so you can easily turn and maneuver the snow blower.

I've had this blower for two years and it has gone through all types of snow on the 5 driveways I do every year. Ample power and the ease of control are my top features
